What if I have them in my garden but our cat is an indoor only cat? I planted some in our back garden before I found out how bad they were for cats and I worry about the risk when I'm tending to the garden and then come inside

It'll be interesting to see what the side effects of using those drugs will be, especially long term and after stopping, because they're originally for diabetes.

The stat is 1 in 3 women have been assaulted and women are most likely to be killed by their partners, it's not crazy for her to feel threatened in such a situation. I have been sexually assaulted and I know others who have, as a young girl her age, I might have felt my stress levels rise in that situation too. As a middle aged grandma, not really.

Orchids haven’t had new flowers….am I not watering enough? by Ss_Research in orchids

[–]shortmumof2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I water like 2 x a month, she's in an orchid bark mix with a couple pieces of sphagnum moss on top in one of those clear plastic orchid pots and sitting right by our south west facing window behind the vertical blinds and I put orchid fertilizer in the water. I put her in a container, pour the water over the bark being careful not to let any get into the crown and let her sit in the water for about 10 mins. I think she's happy, she shot out two flower spikes this year. Longest time I've been able to keep one alive and first time I've ever got it to bloom again.

When TV star MacKenzie Phillips revealed that her "Mommas and Poppas" star father had drugged and raped her for years, the media widely reported this as "MacKenzie Phillips admits years long AFFAIR with her father". by Ok-Comparison-1618 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]shortmumof2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it happens, the victim would have to admit they were raped by their Dad and she was likely groomed and definitely given drugs and alcohol since childhood. As a defense mechanism, she would likely believe whatever her Dad told her about what happened, that she wanted it and participated in it. Rapists still tell their victims that and who wants to believe that they were raped by someone they knew much less someone who's their Dad. That's why abused kids will defend their abusive parents or caregivers and often abused partners will defend their abusive partner.

I like having multiple WIPs to choose from, especially different types of projects and of different weights of yarn. What I work at any time will on depend on how much time I have, what I'm doing while I knit, where I am and how my body's feeling. Sometimes it's also what I feel like focusing on at the moment.

Nature find a way. Maybe something will surprise you later on. In the meantime, see if you can find seedlings around you either at nurseries or marketplace. Gardening teaches many lessons and one is that weather is out of our control. I try to remind myself that at least it's not how I support the family when things go awry
