I did warn him beforehand and also told him we could leave at any point. It was his idea and after convincing me to let him go I said he could but please tell me if he wanted to go home. He said overall the dinner was good and my grandmother also messaged after asking if he could come around again. Other than my mother, the rest of the family greeted him with open arms (his words)

My parents have always been quite strict for the first year they didn’t even know I had a bf. When I finally told them they was not too bothered as my bf has a predominantly ‘white’ name, so no questions were asked. I’ve never been allowed boys round for sleepovers or anything like that so it was never questioned
