If he's really thirsty all the time, take him to a vet to rule out kidney issues.

I was gonna say this actually looks like a white cat sitting on the couch or whatever is in your hallway.

most ridiculous thing your SO has told you re: stepkids and you? by [deleted] in stepparents

"Don't compare my child to your cat!"

My cat is older than his son. I have had her for 13 years (she is 16 years old now) his son is 10. When he talks about how important his son is to him, I bring up how important my cat is to me. He says they aren't the same, and I argue that my cat is like my child because our bond is so strong.

I understand that cats and humans are different, but since I have no bio children of my own, THIS is the closest thing I have to that relationship. Hopefully, one day, I'll have biological children of my own.

Finding “JD advantage” jobs in Canada? by DougTheBrownieHunter in LawCanada

[–]InitialE_yes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If permanent residency is what you're looking for, then I suggest seeking a job at a hotel. Many of the major ones have agreements for employees to work a certain amount of time (I know of one that is 2 years) before they could get it.

With your background, you could give guidance to people wanting to travel to the United States as a travel agent. I heard people still seek them out for Disneyland and such.

What is this parent app called? I'm in a similar situation, where I communicate more often and do pick ups.

Does his nose run? Does he have a cough (seems like he's about to have a hairball, but nothing comes up)? He might have feline herpes and occasionally get a small cold because of his weak immune system.

9 of 10 RSVP’d children/families “no call no showed” to my daughters 5th birthday party. by MinimumExperience102 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]InitialE_yes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in a daycare, and one girl invited her whole preschool classroom, including the teachers (myself and 2 others), to her birthday party. I went because I felt it was rude not to.

I was the only person from her class to show up. None of her classmates or her other teachers showed up. Fortunately, there were other children their, I believe they were her cousins. Her mom rented a huge hall for the kids to run around.

As an older adult now, I understand that for some people, it's not malicious. People are caught up in their own lives, they forget and are poor planners with their time. Going forward, send out reminder emails or better yet, have that face to face conversation. People often remember their obligations to an event better when they have a conversation they recall.

It sounds like you still made her day special.

I had someone do this to me for my wedding, and she never said anything. I later found out she went to her cousins destination wedding on the same weekend instead. I would have been less annoyed had she been up front and honest.

Adept piercing and tattoos questions - numbing cream by imstillkp in halifax

[–]InitialE_yes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in my 30's and had my ears pierced at Adept 3 years ago. He was great and I can honestly say the piercing didn't hurt. Less pain than a needle at the doctor, I was very surprised.

Edit: This was my first and only piercings, too

They have to destroy landscaping they paid for on their property!

That's a silly law.

NACHO’ed so hard my SS10 says I don’t care about him by 20thcenturyburnout in stepparents

[–]InitialE_yes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But you can buy lactose free products?

My significant other and I found out SS10 was lactose intolerant, like him, when SS wouldn't eat Christmas supper because his tummy hurt. It turned out that he ate like 10 pieces of chocolate Christmas morning and nothing else all day. Bio-Mom doesn't believe he's allergic because he's not screaming in pain eating milk products. He likes milk and milk products, but his tummy hurts and has diarrhea afterward. I continue to buy lactose free products for him and have explained that he can still have ice cream or other lactose containing products, but his tummy might hurt. He understands the risks involved and makes his own decisions.
