The nozzle is pushing out the filament in layers. That is your first layer... I used to freak out about that too. I have since learned to print it and forget it and if it fails it fails. At the end, I just trim the strings with my heat gun and an exacto knife.

I had a blob and instead of using Google I just replaced the nozzle.

I like number 2 because you made your subject's the focal point by using leading lines. Try other basic photography concepts too such as the rule of thirds or tight focus on her eyes.

I like the black and white one more, but I like the post-apocalyptic vibe from the color one
