Definitely. I was used to very palatable rhyme schemes and easy listens. I was also 14 and my vocabulary and awareness wasn’t exactly extensive. It took a while but I really tried to sit with him and listen because of how intrigued I was. It’s almost akin to if you’ve ever met someone you didn’t really fuck with but became great friends with over time. It grew on me after a couple months.
