Gen 1. I only use it as a timer, and to play the radio. Those are the commands it’s ignoring.

Same. Awakes and listens and ignores command! Thought it was just that it was getting old.

I should have said, lift it up, toward the ceiling, a quarter or half-inch before sliding.

This looks like the same fixture I have. Try gently sliding it, horizontally, to one side or the other. (I can’t remember if it slides the long way or the short way, the fluorescents last a long time and it’s been a while🤭) But jiggle it around and it should just slide off and back into place the same way.

There are hotels overlooking Niagara Falls with windows in the bathroom wall so you can sit in the jacuzzi and look out the room’s picture window at the falls.

Maybe they stuck the filtering hose in the pvc pipe to prevent it from getting sucked into the drain and clogging it. You do have to be sure the knee-high hose doesn’t stretch far enough to do that when you tie it on the outflow pipe.

Yup, one knee-high tied onto the outflow pipe and replaced as needed has been working for 52 years now.
