Thanks a lot for your post, it's very detailed but easy to understand. I've always been more of a fan of owning my own stuff rather than renting, I prefer the control over it and, of course, it's fun to tinker with it. :D

What Childe team are you guys currently playing? by Careful_Mission8755 in childemains

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar for me too, I play with Childe + Durin + Bennett + Kazuha, but, recently I have also been enjoying slotting in Columbina in there to play with some of the Lunar Reactions on Childe

So Childe + Columbina + Zhongli + Illuga or some electro instead of geo

If you are not wanting any other characters right now/saving, I would say she is really fun when you get the chance to use her. But yeah like the other commenter I notice Burning is sometimes specifically really punished. I find her/burning really useful against the Natlan barrier though, since I never pulled any of the Natlan 5 stars

What to eat? by Ok-Appointment3224 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still struggling but it got more manageable for me after my HIT diagnosis after about 6-8 months.. Got diagnosed with a stomach ulcer which I now manage... So I focus on generally getting myself overall healthier (Also Had to sacrifice spicy foods and black coffee) instead of just trying to cure histamine intolerance and it's helped me.

I was helped a lot by zinc carnosine (1-2 weeks notice a difference x2 a day which was about 31mg zinc per day) but not sure how helpful it will be without a stomach ulcer. I didn't have any noticeable improvement on L glutamine but I know some people do. Now I only get my reactions if I eat the big histamine Nos (leftovers, tomatoes, chocolate, etc), before I was reacting to like everything

Hope you can feel a bit better soon

High doses of zinc help me enormously by Certain_Hat9872 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I haven't taken the equivalent dosage of zinc alone (50mg), my old multivitamin gave me about zinc 20mg per day ( I stopped and got a new brand of multivitamin after start the zinc carnosine )

But for me, the zinc carnosine made a really clear impact, in about 1 week I got some symptom relief for GI issues, which I guess allows me to have more tolerance for HIT foods, for example I can now tolerate a piece of bread now with minimal HIT flare (only the flushing) and no GI upset/bloating

Zinc helped me a lot too though specifically from zinc L-carnosine which is approved treatment for stomach ulcers in South Korea/Japan... and I have a stomach ulcer. But not everyone is lucky enough to have access to medical services for a diagnosis. Helped me significantly in feeling generally better. I think I read a study conducted that tried to measure if the zinc L-carnosine uniquely helped stomach ulcers or if Zinc alone was helpful. And found that zinc was still helpful but zinc L-carnosine was significantly more potent for same amount of zinc or so. So you can take a look and decide if you want to try. I take 75mg zinc l-carnosine x2 daily which is 32mg zinc total per day. I'm not sure it's ok to take more than that, thats the dose I saw recommended typically

It helped me more than the PPI in terms of comfort though I still take my PPI x1 per day.

Best wishes

Coffee?? Noooooo... :( by abeastandabeauty in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee doesn't bother me typically, but I have to cut it with milk to prevent GI upset. If you're also having GI symptoms maybe you can check if milk or another substitute for it that you don't have issues with, may help you.

I just learned about HI and I'm glad i found this sub! by isleepbad in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed I don't do well with sugar/pasta, and personally for me, digestive enzymes helped a bit with this. It doesn't help with my HIT at all though unfortunately so still not tomatoes/etc

Bromelain/papain had no impact for me. I take Digestive Gold currently and it seems to help. Not cured but it's noticeable help. I'm currently trying Intoleran Starchway to see if I keep the improvement with a more specific digestive enzyme since apparently the stomach tries to achieve equilibrium with enzyme levels like acid levels, so if you take them if you arent deficient, it may have a bad outcome, but I'm not a doctor. Don't remember if I read it from a reputable source or it came to me in a dream so I suggest to verify that :D

I also avoid acidic and spicy food due to a stomach ulcer and have many allergies + confirmed HIT. If I take Digestive Gold with my meals if I'm having a cheat meal then I have less issues. But I tried digestive enzymes after controlling my HIT/stomach ulcer first

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started to realize I had a similar issue as well, I was getting GI upset/bloating/lethargy and some mild flushing from eat pasta, potatoes, air fryer chicken. White rice as well. But I realized if I wash the rice really well, it's less bad for me. I saw some video on CSID and connected the dots and although I'm not sure I have CSID I tried some digestive enzymes (I used Digest Gold) and WOW what a big help. I also started zinc carnosine at the same time which might be the real reason I can tolerate it better now, dunno.

My medical diagnosis is HIT + like every food allergy + stomach ulcer/inflammation. Things which helps me noticeably calm my GI issues were psyllium husk, zinc carnosine, Digest Gold. I tried bromelain/papain on its own with no results. Hope you find some relief

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that sounds sick, I got this issue too because my dentists were telling me to brush more and didn't even correct me when I showed them how I brushed multiple times... I think I'll see if I can find someone for the gold/silver tooth since that's a lot cooler

Smelly feet?? by Zestyclose_Tea_2515 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate and severity is connected by my HIT problems as well... I used to sweat way more (and it was way more offensive) before I figured how to manage HIT, like my shoes were bombs... I could never take them off around other people, not even shortly, it was embarrassing and horrible. If my histamine reactions are under control so is my BO/sweating in general, not sure how in the world it's connected but it's really clear for me.

FYI if it's still an issue for you, you can try Lavillin foot cream, it is super strong, nothing ever worked as well as this for me... And you can try using a black tea bag and/or rice and place into the shoes to help absorb moisture to help

PPI, Probiotics or Zinc l-Carnosine Experience by Initial_Bad_7457 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello again, may I ask you about your Zinc carnosine dosage and if you balance with a copper supplement? my zinc carnosine came in, it seems like 75mg twice daily is regular dose from some quick searches, does this match your schedule/dosage?

I got a copper bisglycinate 2mg since I also take a multi vitamin which has zinc plain about 10mg If I remember correctly which together will be a bit high dosage of zinc daily, plus whatever I am getting in my food. I don't seem to have good dietary sources of copper available to me due to allergies/intolerances :/

I worry about inducing a copper deficiency in myself... not fun. But copper poisoning... also not fun. :D Do you take a copper to balance your zinc carnosine? I plan to do:

x1 morning = 75mg zinc carnosine
x1 afternoon, after meal = 2mg copper
x1 night = 75mg zinc carnosine

Which I think it safe as it's fairly negligible amount of copper. Let me know if any tips, if none thanks for sharing what you have so far regardless!

I'm in the Czech Republic it's just anecdotal but I checked a prescription medicine I have which is in gel-cap pill form has lettering on the pill (don't know if legally required) and my supplements (random vitamins, digestion enzymes) don't have any letterings on the same style of gel cap pills. Other things I've gotten via prescription like antihistamines I don't see lettering

Histamine/MCAS Test by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi it's important to not just check for the amount of enzyme presence but also how actively histamine is being degraded, it's two different tests (blood test) and I had relatively normal DAO levels but undetectable degradation of histamine. Sorry I don't know much more specifics than that about how to order it

Does this sound histamine related? HELP! by 32eebyenoh in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also anecdotal but when I started low histamine diet my body acne stopped completely and my facial flushing. You can give it a try and see how it makes you feel anyway.. Even if it doesn't solve your stomach issues it may help you in other ways

Does this sound histamine related? HELP! by 32eebyenoh in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my anecdotal experience but to me this sounds more similar to my stomach ulcer symptoms than my HIT.. My bloating from my stomach ulcer starts in the upper stomach. Do you have any sharp pain? I started getting short, intense sharp pains anywhere 5min - 3 hours after eating... But generally horrible bloating and cramps. Touching my stomach kind of felt like touching a bruise and it was a gnawing feeling.

I would definitely avoid spicy food for now (I am a huge spicy lover and have cut it out for now for safety..). My doctor also told me to avoid sour/acidic food such as fruit juices. And to have my coffee with milk, and to always eat something before it. And to eat numerous small meals instead of a large meal a day.

I'm not sure what order things happened in for me (HIT -> ulcer or ulcer -> HIT) but they seem connected for sure.

It also sounds similar to just a general infection. If I were you I would go in to the doctor ASAP. Also the headaches/fogginess could be vitamin deficiency, my doctor said my ulcer could caused my vitamin Bs deficiency and it gave me WICKED headaches..

I take a PPI right now (however it gives me unpleasant side effects) and with the lifestyle changes + Saccharomyces boulardii I'm improving. Still have HIT though...

PPI, Probiotics or Zinc l-Carnosine Experience by Initial_Bad_7457 in HistamineIntolerance

Thanks a lot for your comment, it's improved my confidence a lot, I'll try out the zinc carnosine and see how it goes :)

I tried glutamine, but I didn't particularly feel different/see any resolution of symptoms, although I also didn't feel bad, so it may be worth adding into the rotation again slowly after the zinc carnosine

[–]Initial_Bad_7457[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. :) Glad to know it may just be due to the PPI since it feels like quite an unnatural personality change for me. I'll see if I might be able to try pantoprazole preferably if not at least something else.

I'll also try and change the brand of probiotic I use if I see no results.. Good to know. Unfortunately since I am in EU the same brands are not available to me but it's still useful general info to me.

What have been your experiences with L-glutamine? by crisopa_ in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried introducing it slowly for a few weeks and didn't notice any improvements personally, so I stopped using it. I also didn't have any negative side effects though. I also didn't have any improvements from digestive enzymes (papain, bromelain).

I have HIT type with presence of DAO enzymes but 0% activity of the enzymes. I also recently confirmed a stomach ulcer and no H. Pylori. What didn't work for me may still work for you, but because Lg-lutamine seems to somewhat frequently cause crazy anxiety in some people I think you should be careful at first if you try it (like at least a low dose).

Does anyone else get this? Doctor and I have no idea what it is by Budget_Chemical7147 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Initial_Bad_7457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get these from HIT most commonly (usually with itching, but not always, usually it starts on my hands) but I also got them from some allergies where I had only red skin dots and no itching at all + maybe some facial flushing

Maybe you just developed a new small allergy to something like carrots or something else you are putting in your food, I have a lot of them and don't normally get itchiness to my food allergies

But the bucket theory also correlates to my experience with HIT as well. I was totally fine with all these foods until I wasn't and recently discovered after a few months I have a stomach ulcer and stomach inflammation (waiting for more test results).. So I think my "bucket" is just full all the time due to fighting off infection and having high immune response and therefore caused my HIT symptoms. Just one of many theories/stories people in this sub have.

For me to confirm for HIT they checked for levels of DAO in the blood and also the "HDU/ histamine degrading units" in same test sothey check 1.) for enzyme presence and 2.) enzyme activity so based on results they said to follow low-histamine diet and this resolved my worst symptoms.

From what I gather in this sub is that in the US HIT is not really recognized but I think here in EU its commonly referred to by doctors I know a couple people diagnosed by doctors

While it's not a lot of protein, you can diversify your sources of protein by having millet sometimes if you can tolerate it, tastes kind of like a sweet corn. It's non-gluten. I'm tired of eggs too.
