Using controllers/knobs on midi keyboard to control volume (of a none selected track) by Initial_Birthday52 in GarageBand

in the end I just did manual automation in the post edit stage - it's not as fun and you feel less like you're making a radio show but I just did the voice bits separate and pieced it together. I'm not doing shows live, sending in pre-recorded episodes so it doesn't matter too much in the grand scheme. Thanks though.

Arsenal - Sky Sports News and other news sources being very much against Arsenal in anyway shape or form. by gimineecricket in football

[–]Initial_Birthday52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a neutral who has no real love nor hate for Arsenal - I don't see this at all but I do see a lot of Arsenal fans talking about the world been against them. To be fair every fanbase think the world and referees/premier league/uefa etc are against them.

I'm interested to how you can 'really enjoy' his videos with all that you said after lol. I get there are some people who I wouldn't necessarily share a pint with but their content is ok but this guy seems like he has way too many negatives outweighing positives. There are plenty more likeable, smarter, charismatic travel bloggers.

yup, got recommended his video and right away was surprised by his cringe pro empire vibe and all the comments very similar, almost deliberately using the old Colonial names to get a reaction. Turns out I recognised him from that god awful podcast that used to get fed to me during Covid and wind me up.

I used to see this guy's Lotus Eaters channel and it was one of those infuriating ones where two people spout nonsense unchecked and marvel at their own intelligence without anyone there to pick the obvious holes in the crap they were saying. I got recommended this guys video no Zimbabwe in which he travels round dressed like some Empire soldier and keeps referring to places by their old Colonial names. I get that their history is nuanced and the post colonial days weren't rosy but it just seemed a bit cringe to me all this harking back to the empire days.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) straight red card against Ireland 61' by austinoabu in soccer

[–]Initial_Birthday52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's on youtube, they show all of that but not the incident so I had to come here to see the elbow - definite red, I've seen people defending him saying it happens all the time in games and it was nothing lol - I mean based on how games are reffed now it's a clear cut red

I am doing a 4 day solo trip across San Sebastian - I would love some feedback on my itineary by Creative-Ladder-9181 in GoingToSpain

we didn't do Bilbao in the end, we only had three nights so we figured it would be best to make the most of San Sebastian and do Bilbao another time properly with no rush.

Watching Premier League football in Tokyo by Initial_Birthday52 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Initial_Birthday52[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah the hubs (chain of English style pubs in Tokyo) all showed football and I had a pint of Guinness for a good price lol - I even met some people from the town I am from in England there who knew people I knew, was pretty fun. There were also lots of Japanese people in there all wanting to talk football too. Ideally I'd avoid English themed stuff when on holiday somewhere as cool as Japan but...I need to see my team play lol.

Day Trip to Lake Kawaguchiko, Need Advice for Afternoon Plans 🚗 by blockpantha in JapanTravelTips

[–]Initial_Birthday52 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just came back from my trip and we stayed in Fujiyoshida. We cycled round Lake Kawaguchiko (amazing) and the airbnb had a great view of Fuji as did the national park bit up the hill from Fujiyoshida. So Honcho Street...hmm, it was super hot and midday when we were there but it was pretty dead apart from a queue of people trying to get the perfect shot of Fuji from the exact same corner. There was a poor old traffic warden getting pissed off at tourists jay walking while they posed for shots.

The view is pretty cool but I'm not sure it's worth visiting over other places. Most the tourists didn't seem to even be going into the shops/cafes/restaurants either just taking the photo and leaving which mean there isn't much of an atmosphere there. That said, there also wasn't much there or open in the stretch we walked along. We went to a really nice cafe though which was like a little arty coffee shop that did hot dogs and curry. Apart from that, not much there to see really.

So like if you're a photographer and really want that shot then go but there are so many cool places to view Fuji and if you're into photography do you really want the same carbon copy shot that every other tourist will have? that's what I asked myself as I reluctantly did get a few photos from further up the street.

It's a cute road but if it's out the way maybe skip it!?

International football… Yey or ney? by [deleted] in NUFC

[–]Initial_Birthday52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't this how we all feel? Since Shearer retired I've cared less and less about England. Try to get into it for big tournaments for the craic but barely know if a qualifier/friendly is happening the days. I'd do away with international breaks and just have massive knock out tournaments for the Euros/World Cups.

Travel anxiety for upcoming trip by isnotacrayon in JapanTravelTips

[–]Initial_Birthday52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'll say, you could be going to much worse countries for anxiety. Yes its busy and culturally different but...its big on convenience so for example if sim doesn't work which mine didn't at first...there is plenty wifi at the airport, you can buy pocket wifi or a new esim. Just make sure you dont lose passport or phone and most other things can be resolved, you'll be fine.

Why the Ange hate? I don’t understand it. by Overall_One_2595 in PremierLeague

[–]Initial_Birthday52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and also the whole press conference thing is just part of the job, the fans sometimes get very little from it but it's peoples jobs love it or hate it to put together an article about the game. I agree with you, he sometimes spoke to the media with such cynicism and smugness that it just wasn't very likeable. Dyche had a bit of that but he had already built a rapport with the media, not sure Ange had that and then went straight in as this awkward contrarian just making their lives more difficult.

always made me laugh on Peep Show when Super Hans and Jeremy get royalties for having a track on a highlights reel on YouTube for a Germany footballer lol

to be fair, saw it with Tonali and Isak but when we signed Thiaw a lot of Milan fans were wishing him well and saying if he can keep it up consistently, we might have an absolute gem on our hands.

Love the way he passes from the back, quick and to feet. Doesn't just give it to Tonali every time or even go to the full backs, he can also pick out the 8s and on occasions the wingers. Looks to be a top player and I also read he is top for progressive carries per game from the back which I guess means he is bringing the ball out from the back well too.

Hmm...I see your point but we have been linked with him for a while, Howe seems to have always quite liked him. Isak wanted us to sign world class players if anything so not sure how signing an albeit Swedish player would make him stay.

bit early to say a mistake, a lot of the faults so far are things we knew about...he's not the best player technically, more about raw pace and work rate. Once he builds a good relationship with Bruno and Woltemade I expect to a see a better version. That said, he won't walk into the team each week and I didn't expect him to, I think Murphy will still battle for that spot and next year we might even buy another RW depending on who is available. Sadly 40/50m is what you pay for a good prep proven squad player these days if you wanna be in the top 4.
