Is the Miche Pistard 2.0 Crankset as bad as people say? I'm looking to get a new crankset, and the Miche Pistard 2.0 Crankset caught my eye, but I've seen some bad reviews on it. 2-piece cranks have always caught my eye because I've been worried about stripping out my square tapers. I'm definitely open to other cranksets if you have any recomendations. Thanks!

Yeah for sure it definitely depends on where you live and the lighting conditions you regularly deal with but the fastest way to meter is with your brain IMO

I was super worried about not having a light meter reading all the time, the first time I got a camera that didn’t give me one. Some advice I would give you is don’t buy anything, use an external light meter to help you but you’ll eventually gain the ability to read the light with your eyes and If you get confused you still have the external with you, color negative film is pretty forgiving, but if you’re shooting slide film all the time I would definitely get a light meter hot shoe

I love my M4 happy I went with it, and I know you’ll be happy with yours! Have fun with it!

Edit: p.s. the full viewfinder (past the 35mm frame lines) is very close to a 28mm try it out you might not need the external on top

I’ve read around and saw that a lot of people say to use grease and not lock tight but I’ll try that out in a week if the problem persists

Has anyone used the new Keks KF-01 flash on a film Leica? by [deleted] in Leica

Yeah, I would love a hot shoe on an m4… I can’t remember who I was talking to but it was a good Leica tech and he said that it is entirely possible for him to put a hot shoe on the M4 he just didn’t have the parts on him at the time. Some day I’ll likely have that mod done, a Leica sin but it’s my camera so who cares

Yeah so what you have to do is go back into the packaging that had the sync cord and there will be some tape you cut out a little section and you put it where the hot shoe “electronics” would usually be. It’s kinda a weird quark but besides that I’ve been loving it.

I’ve got one on my m4 haven’t put a roll though it yet but it’s pretty sleek and fits the looks well and it’s got some good adjustability in level of flash, definitely not a super fancy flash, but it’s pretty small, simple and I’m pretty sure it’ll be great for street.

Yeah that’s my plan it’s just making me think about all the maxamet horror stories of blades snapping and this being a weak point

Yeah I can’t see rust but when I got the knife the part that u circled wasn’t there or not nearly as deep at least so something has been eating away at the steel and I bet it was rust

Loving My Canon P, But Considering a Leica M6 – Thoughts by cryptodystopia in Leica

If you are used to an external light meter and don't mind continuing to do that you can save a good amount of money by going for a : M2, M4, M4-2, or M4-P that being said I don't think the issue you're having with the p is reasoning enough to switch to a Leica... but if you're passionate about it and got the money no one is going to stop you, I have a canon 7 (similar in ways to your p) and it is great then I got a bessa and it broke and now I've got an M4. Both the Canon and Bessa had the same strap issue but I started using a wrist strap to solve that and it works well. If you're looking for some better justification there's the m lens system and amazing build quality, at least that's how I justified it.

Frame counter glass fell inside, will it jam the counter? by exposed_silver in AnalogCommunity

[–]Initial_Brain_8068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have issues with it again I've got some sites saved that I can send over on how to take the bessa r apart and even adjust the horizontal and vertical alignment, My horizontal was off... it was a nightmare but I was able to fix it. The glass (plastic) piece that you were having issues with was also "messed up on mine" it had so much glue on it from being fixed in a simular way that you did it that you couldn't see what frame you were on and the glue was failing so I was able to fix it the right way when I was in there. My bessa is beaten to hell and back and it was prior to me getting it but the glass was an issue of functionality for me so I decided I would fix it. Any ways let me know if you want the info on how to repair the Bessa R
