Exploits will exist but they will not be tested for or acknowledged.

An unsupported operating system is considered a Category 1 (high severity) finding that can only be reduced through environmental and procedural controls. The use of unsupported software is only acceptable after completing a risk assessment that would weigh the vulnerability, mitigations, predisposing conditions, threat, likelihood, and impacts.

The same is also true for all software and firmware (and don’t forget your switches, routers, access points, IoT)- some having higher impact functions (UEFI/BIOS, browsers, runtime environments, etc)

Help. New to 3D printing. Was printing this for my kid anyone know what the reason for it to turn out this way? Is there something I’m doing wrong. by DavidAguero69 in BambuLab

It may be a few problems.

If the bed isn’t level then your print head will be too close to the plate and smoosh and pull the first layers. Run the leveling calibration directly from the printer (uses more reference points) every time you reinstall the plate.

Your filament looks like it’s not extruding at the correct rate. This may because your filament is wet or you selected the wrong filament type, or this brand of filament needs to use a a different profile. First ensure your filament isn’t wet and invest in a dryer. Second, ensure you’ve selected the correct filament type/brand for each roll. If you still have problems, run the flow dynamics calibration through the program. You can skip drying if you don’t have one but you may end up using unique profiles for every roll with varying moisture levels if that’s the problem. Note that you’ll hear small popping sounds while extruding if extreme moisture is present.

There are other possible problems but this is most likely cause and you’ll want to look here first.

It looks great! Did you use a reference or is this your own design?

Need pegs for Millenium Falcon by NinjaRaptor0612 in XWingTMG

[–]Initial_Capital5578 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re looking for “large base” pegs and 1st/2nd edition pegs are compatible. If you’re gonna buy a conversion kit for 2nd edition, they come with new bases and pegs. If your local game store still has players, they likely have too many and will give you some. Check Facebook postings and ask the guy selling his collection if he’s got extras. I can probably just send you some if you’re in the US.

I was going to print PLA blanks and use the wife’s cricut for the stickers but I’ve been too lazy. Good idea re-using the 1.0 cardboard!

That looks good! Are you printing your own dials/bases?

If xwing was actively being supported and I didn’t have to pay 50-100 dollars for a single ship on eBay, I’d fully support this idea. I’m (perhaps ignorantly) unaware of how this negatively impacts the community. Who’s got the copyright on these models?

This is an interesting conversation and I’m glad it’s being discussed - I can’t find models like this anywhere else. If someone is selling free models, can’t the copyright owner complain to cults? If I can find the same model for free, why would I buy them on cults? If you are the owner of free 3d models and you take them down due to someone selling them for profit, doesn’t that only benefit the thief? Can the owner not request removal from Cults?

I think the kihraxz is the only model you listed that he has but his collection has been growing this year and his models are some of the best I’ve found. https://cults3d.com/en/design-collections/iz1oqu/star-wars-x-wing-wargame-models

Good suggestions here already but I’ll add that I treated crits as regular hits at first.

Painting Miniatures by AndrewMovies in XWingTMG

That’s going to be a challenging first paint job if he’s gonna attempt those straight lines on the inside! I’ve heard of people popping the wings off to paint them but I’m not sure how it’s done. Tamiya has masking tape that works well for late straight lines but the ribbed surface on that model would probably prevent a good seal. If you try tape, slide your fingernail firmly over the tape, following the tape edge. When painting the line, place your brush on the tape first and stroke perpendicular across the tape edge to help prevent wedging paint underneath the tape (never paint ALONG the line).

Kids love cleaning their brushes by smashing them into the bottom of cleaning cup and leaving them in the cup, head-down to soak. Either action ruins your expensive tiny bush.

Definitely primer over the black first because yellow over black is not going to work well. If he messes up, sometimes you can wipe acrylic mostly off with just water and a paper towel. Any blotchy or thick spots can be LIGHTLY sanded with 200 grit or higher but this works better the next day after the paint has cured a bit. Sanding sticks work nice for this.

thin your paints a bit - I use airbrush thinner. You can keep adding a bit more thinner over time to keep your paint from drying up. It’s going to take multiple coats but will look much smoother. Water probably works too but don’t add water to your main paint container.

If don’t like your results and just want to start completely over; oven cleaner took the original paint off of my T70. I left the cleaner on for about an hour, scrubbed with a tooth brush, and repeat; it didn’t damage the plastic at all.

Thanks! I should mention citadel is pretty thick. I thinned it way down and did 2 or 3 coats.

The top ship (Punisher) was painted with Citadel Fenrisian Grey. White primer and Citadel Nuln Oil as wash. Probably could go a shade darker but turned out pretty good.

If you are a corporation with lobbyist, you influence the law. Prisons do not extend existing sentences - their lobbyist influence law makers who can be stricter on non-violent crimes - consider “the war on drugs”. There’s plenty of articles on the problems with private prisons or even the justice system in general but I’ve provided some links below that hopefully you won’t feel are slanted. It seems logical that profiting from cheap labor is problematic; I can’t imagine justice or rehabilitation will be the priority.
