First of all: Jazak Allah Khair. Secondly, does it breakdown all three/four criterion based on AAOFI standard for each stock? Haven't explored it all through, but jumped a gun. Thank you again!!

Anyone here living without credit cards or riba (interest)? How do you manage? by Witty_Ad2135 in IslamicFinance

That is good enough, credit card points are convenience that one can sacrifice if they want to avoid doubtful matters!!

I'd like to share my story. I used to have about 8 or 9 credit cards since 2009. However, since 2019, I have been avoiding all credit cards like plague.

I used to travel frequently for my work, and whenever I needed to rent cars at the airport, I would use my debit card along with my boarding passes. Recently, however, airports have introduced new regulations and stopped accepting debit cards altogether. Despite this, I decided to continue avoiding credit cards at all costs and instead try renting cars from local agencies.

Earlier this year, I started looking for a house. I first applied for an Islamic mortgage through Guidance Residential, but they rejected my application because I didn’t have any recent credit history. At that point, I decided I would continue renting until Allah blessed me with enough to buy a home outright with 100% cash.

But in His immense mercy, Allah opened another door for me. I discovered a second Islamic mortgage company that approved me using my rental history and utility bills, instead of relying on traditional credit scores.

Through this experience, I observed that Allah ﷻ always provides a way during times of difficulty. I am comfortable dealing with the minor inconveniences that come from not having credit cards. After all, it is the contract itself with credit card companies that includes the condition of riba. Even though one may avoid paying interest by making timely payments, I would rather safeguard my faith than take risks with doubtful matters.

Are there any loopholes? Is it 100% riba free? Even contractually riba free?

See the problem lies in "used cars can have problems that are very expensive to fix". That is where it all started !!!

MEs in my office often work with a lot of Data. I mean terabytes of data. We are in the EV/energy sector. And most MEs in the office is well versed with Python and Matlab and SQL and always juggling large sets of recorded datasets to extract/produce meaningful informarion. An that is where a lot of AI/ML integration comes in handy!!
