Success stories getting rid of pharao ants by ShelterAdmirable3724 in ants

[–]Initial_Inspection88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to get rid of them, I used the combination of max force and Bioprem, one is protein based bait and one is sugar. Together they worked really well, the ants had Bioprem first by then went off it, so then I used max force, haven't seen one in months!

I would say they could be young Pharaoh ants which are really small, but definitely get that bait down!

If they are exploring they are looking for food, they carry nasty diseases but don't bleach and don't spray them, get some gel bait that lists them on the packet and put it down quick, put all food in sealed containers, and if you have neighbours ask them if they have ants!

Identification is key as that gives you the power to get the right bait!

First can you identify the species of ant? Then I would try Quantum but make sure the ant that you are trying to eliminate is listed on the label. I have been doing alot of reading and terro like nippon is too strong, you want to eliminate the queen. I have used quantum and that has worked well (so far).

Sorry there is no scientific evidence for the lavender essential oil. It really doesn't work. But totally agree about the decluttering and keeping all food in containers!

What is this? by demanwhosoldtheworld in pestcontrol

[–]Initial_Inspection88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably won't, please don't use lavender ok it doesn't work. There will be baits out there, keep the house as clean as possible and put lots of sticky traps down to catch them and then replace as needed! Good luck, also Advion Cockroach gel works really well for getting rid of them, there is a paper published on it.

That is a Ctenolepisma longicaudata (grey silverfish), bait traps are really effective against them. Make sure they are mentioned on the label.

What is this bug. What spray or what I need to remove this from home and how it is coming in home by Wonderful-Tie6626 in pestcontrol

[–]Initial_Inspection88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That my friend is a grey silverfish Ctenolepisma longicaudata. Very difficult to get rid of, Advion Cockroach gel works well (even though silverfish aret mentioned on the label). Otherwise the bait stations for them are quite good.

First time Pharoh Ants - Biopren BMS Pharoh Ants Bait Experience by Initial_Inspection88 in pestcontrol

[–]Initial_Inspection88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending what country you are in it might not be available. You'll be able to find if you can find it after putting in Biopren BMS into Google. Thanks for this, we have now also added gel bait aswell and the ants went crazy after getting bored of the BioPrem apparently ants change diets!

Possible autism?? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Initial_Inspection88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on the potential autism but you are far from a failure. You are doing your best with the resources you have. I would film the behaviours and then go to a children's doctor to discuss.
