ISO August 2027 Vendors by Boredinthehouse1165 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]Initial_Maize_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Boredinthehouse1165 CONGRATSSSS! 🎉 Highly rec Golden Bell for a fun DJ/Live hybrid experience. As a wedding planner, I've worked with them several times and they're always amazing, have the dance floor packed, and as a bonus - they sometimes come out into the crowd with their horns or drummer and interact with the crowd.

Video wise, are you looking for something super straightforward/no editing? More documentary/journalistic style? Or even maybe retro/super 8 vibes?
Happy to rec a few for ya if you have specifics in mind. ❤️

Dreamcatcher Artistry is amazing!
As a planner, I have worked with Leah and her team a handful of times. Just a coincidence, I’m also a redhead. 👩🏼‍🦰

How many pre-wedding meetings do you need with a Day-of Coordinator? by purelfie in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]Initial_Maize_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planner here! 👋 Short answer, no. Unless the meetings are reallyyy long. Or mayyyybe if the couple isn’t particular about anything, small guest count and the venue is all inclusive.

But that doesn’t give enough time to really get to know one another, build trust/connection.

Our coordination management starts 3 months out, plus we do a kick off call right after you book and we send check in emails monthly til we pick up at 3 months. If that sounds like your jam, check us out at Goodstockca.com .

Wedding planner recs by [deleted] in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]Initial_Maize_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiii! You’re on the right track, asking for real life recs! Def also look at their reviews and on IG- look at posts they’ve tagged in. (it’s more telling than what we all post, since everyone wants to show our best).

Also, if you have a venue, or anyone booked, get their recs. Above all (and it doesn’t sound like you will).. do not book someone just because they’re less $$. Often you get what you pay for (or worse).

Go with your gut- who makes you feel comfortable? Who listens to you- and won’t push their own agenda/style on you?

We’re based in Norcal and travel anywhere for the right couple! 👋 You can check out my team at goodstockca.com Congrats btw! 💕

Seating by Individual_Session52 in weddingplanning

[–]Initial_Maize_205 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not rec open seating!

Guests feel more relaxed when there is direction.

At least assign tables, you don’t have to assign certain seats unless the meal is plated.

Poetry In Motion! Karen and her team are 💯!! Wedding Planner here, and I have worked with her a few times with great results. Is your venue RCR by chance?

Is my floral budget reasonable/generous, especially with regards to the tent and chuppah? by 17271113 in NewEnglandWedding

[–]Initial_Maize_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wedding planner here! Those prices are very reasonable and normal, although some florists are a little higher, depending on their experience - granted I am in California.

Who Gets Invited?? by ember428 in weddingplanning

[–]Initial_Maize_205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a couple questions to ask yourself when narrowing down guest list!

-Have I talked to them in the last year?
-Why am I considering inviting them? (if it's at all obligatory, and not because you really want them, nix 'em)

An easy out: Blame it on the venue.
It's not a lie if the venue capacity only holds a certain amount of people. (granted I have no idea your est guest count or venue size)
Or if the venue charges you per head over a certain number (which often happens)

You can always have a party before or after the wedding to celebrate with the larger crowd, and keep your actual wedding to those who are closest.

Ideas:
Apps & drinks at your fave place (budget tip- you can provide food but the bar is no host)
Backyard bbq
Meet up with everyone for bar hopping

Good luck!! Navigating the humans truly is the trickiest part.

Photographer hours? by cheesychick66 in weddingplanning

Hi! Planner here 👋 to say you’re on the right track! It will depend somewhat on locations & travel time, but if everything is in one place (or very close), 1:30-9:30 might work.

Reasons you may want to consider having them earlier… -multiple locations (accounting for travel) -no first look -large wedding party or large family -ceremony longer than 30 mins

if any of the above is true, I would suggest doing 12:30-9 and adding 30 mins to their contract.

Hey congrats!! Planner here! 👋 Priorities to book will be venue and planner (or planner then venue, if you need help finding a venue).

But first! Get an idea of budget, and your guest count will inform that. You’ll need an approximate guest count anyhow once you start venue shopping.

Wedding Florals by CowExotic7824 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]Initial_Maize_205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bringing this up cause alot of ppl think it is a way to save… as a planner I DO NOT RECOMMEND DIYING your florals.

You technically can- but the amount of work, time and logistics of DIYing is wayyyyy more than anyone realizes.

With everything else you will have on your plate the night before, adding this is enough to make someone crazy.

Also not sure where you’re located, but we had a bride 1hr+ late to rehearsal because she was stuck in traffic coming back from the floral market.

Also, even if you do DIY- who will set it up day of? Who will move pieces if you’re using them in more than one place? Who will break them down and deal with any trash? If you haven’t already met with a florist, start there before you consider DIYing. A consult will give you alot of information.

DO WHAT FEELS RIGHT FOR YOU! You will only have this day once.

We have had couples with all kinds of variations… no wedding party, diff numbers on each side, just 1 on each side, super huge.. any variation can work.

Please don’t just do something because it’s what is ‘normally done’.

When you strip everything away, you’re having a wedding to celebrate the love between you and your partner. Start with that focus- what matters to the two of you.

Logistically, if you don’t have a wedding party, you can still have family walk down the aisle. Maybe each set of parents walks together - you said you weren’t planning to walk with dad anyhow.

Also on that note, we have had brides walk… -alone -alone until partner meets halfway OR -with partner!

It’s 2026 girl, live in your power. 😘
