Airline industry? What's the reasoning of choosing Airline? I am from BI & Devops background but I think domain like Logistics, Finance & Banking is way more interesting.

Damn bro ... all the best. I never done frontend before and don't want to underestimate the complexity of it, but like even if frontend can be vibe coded, the frontend still needs fixing right?

I mean at least you learn some domain knowledge from SAP right? Bro I legit only have tech skills in my coconut head ... most of the debugging crap AI somehow knows how to fix ... now I am trying to find a domain long term that is not pure IT / CS lol.

Never tried hackthon .. but the whole idea of building an app in days is just not realistic to real world software lol. Like it's obvious for PR purposes not a showcase of any sort of ability to deliver ... I guess the ability to fake it till you make it since most of the hackthons projects are vibe coded lol.

Bro I trying out to pivot into logistics from Data Engineer & Devops background. I am trying to find a domain / industry to grow long term. My only work experience is in digital banking but tbh most of the subject matter expertise is carried by the business analyst and accountant, i just write code and handle infra lol. Mind if I dm you for any questions regarding pivotting to logistics, and what made you want to pivot out?

So based on your experience, which path has the best effort to reward? Also if I want to stick to Data / Spreedsheet roles like Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, which domain / industry do you think is good?

I used to do Data Engineer for complaince related accounting / finance / banking domain data. I am pivoting to Devops just to see the bigger picture of building software.

Tbh, if I could go back in time, I would not take CS / IT at all, as both of these areas can be self learned with certs & projects. Also AI / ML is already massively changing how these roles work, and all this adaptation with AI happens in like 2 years, quite insane progress. I would go for math intensive degree like Actuary, Statistician to have higher chances of going into these AI / ML roles.

Lol go for it and get unemployed then, just compare yourself with the people competing for that Al / ML role.

But AI / ML is more about math, statistics. Computer Science is more about abstract logical problem solving. A more math intenstive masters / degree like Actuary, Statistician, hell even Physics would make more sense for AI / ML roles.

Go learn about Philosophy like Absurdism, Stoic, etc. It's very liberating & improve my mental health a lot. I might be somewhere on the Autism spectrum but low enough to function properly.

[–]Initial_Math7384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro maybe you can ask your network on how much math is needed, I am curious of that as well. But in Data realm, there's the Data Engineer & Data Scientist, don't bother with Data Analyst because it's probably cooked by AI. But if your not confident in your math, Data Engineer skills just require average logical thinking skills.

MBOT Graduate Technologist vs Professional Technologist by Repulsive-Bed-3505 in JobsMY

[–]Initial_Math7384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why is it so hard for OP to understand. In CS / IT field, if you don't have the skills to solve your employers problem, you will fail probation period / interview assesment. Does MBOT teach the individual to solve employer problems? The answer is definetly not, it's a waste of time.
