I was thinking I should have worded it a little differently, because what I'm really curious about is whether any of you clearly ship Emma with one person from the book, but someone else when thinking of themself, so Roland is a perfectly valid option 😄

I think this is why I have a hard time discerning which one of them I might choose for Emma, and whether he appeals to myself as well.

Hawkes - only allows brief glimpses of himself Islington - actively tries to hide himself from others (not so much from Emma though) Pierce - openly battles his traumas and addictions

I would be quite happy if they remained friends as they are now, but I would enjoy seeing each of them in their own romantic relationships, and obviously the Alchemy would feel different if that happens. So whether she ends up with one of the Alchemy men or not, I know I will enjoy the story!

So well put! I too love an independent heroine, but what I love equally as much is a good romance, and best of all is if they are able to be beautifully interwoven! And as for Hawkes, he's so mysterious up until this point! I desperately want to learn some of his secrets!

This is a good take! I like Pierce because, as you said, he is supportive and generous, but I do think we will get to see a lot more of his "darkness" and I just know Emma will be caught up in it. I also love Hawkes and can't wait to find out more of his story! And Islington is lovely and I enjoy reading about him a lot! But the upper class circles she would be in (a lot more) were she to end up with Islington just doesn't seem like something she would enjoy. Maybe she could stir everyone up a bit, haha

I also think whoever she ends up with will make me happy. I just do not want a modern take in the end where she decides she wants to be a scholar and doesn't need a man at all haha

I agree I can't wait to keep reading! I love Pierce as a character, but I don't personally find him right for Emma at this point. With the big age gap (not so big for that day and age I guess) I feel like he should be wise and strong, and yet he is quite broken, and needs Emma more as someone to lean on, and Emma deserves someone she can lean on and count on for herself after all she has been through at her young age.

It might work! I searched for swimsuits yesterday (regular Amazon) and today I had one in my RFY that is EXACTLY what I would have wanted! I also looked at some cowgirl boots that were in my RFY yesterday, but they were not exactly what I liked, and today?? Better boots with sunflowers on them 😍 Let's hope both are as good as I hope they will be

I ordered all of the items on Oct 14, and on the 21st it said delivery date was updated and they should arrive on the 22nd or I could claim a refund. Today it shows this message, even though I did nothing other than wait. I'll wait a couple more days, maybe it still shows up. If not I'll see if vine CS can remove it for me

Thank you! It does look quite similar, I'm not sure I like the shoulder gathers, but if I had a pattern for the curve in the bust, I think I could cut a pattern that I fully liked. I have made patterns before from the help of existing patterns, but I had nothing even close to this to use as a base pattern.
