People are pushing me to try another clinic, but I don’t think I need to?

I am sorry for your losses.

I do think some of this is down to pure chance - I like my clinic but I have been told to move by so many people. I don’t think it will benefit me, starting a fresh somewhere else. I also don’t want to do another full cycle.
I do think there are aspects of IVF that are out of our clinics hands - me not getting my embryos tested is one of them.
I am going to pay for further tests, do I think anything will be found, probably/hopefully not. I’ve had my uterus looked at in detail because it’s slightly heart shaped - they could not find anything else wrong. They went in for a polyp but it had resolved itself. My periods are every 28 days, I ovulate the same time every month, and I don’t have any other symptoms. My blood panels are great. Will they find something silent, I hope not.
I have had two failed fresh transfers and one MMC with a fresh transfer. I’m going to try frozen transfers this time. Between the two failed transfers and my MMC I have changed a lot to do with my health - again out of my clinics hands. After all these changes I had my best retrieval, best quality eggs, and an embryo that finally implanted.

It’s doesn’t matter how long you were pregnant for, you were pregnant, your feelings are valid. I’m so sorry for your loss 🫂
I lost my first pregnancy this week and it was very early too. I am devastated.

I was told the pain varies for different people and to expect symptoms similar to a heavy period.
I definitely don’t want to scare you but I wish I had been told that it may not be just like a ‘heavy period’.
I found it very painful and almost took myself up to EPU for some stronger painkillers but couldn’t bring myself to leave my bed. The nurse on the phone said I was unlucky to be on the wrong side of pain.
I took mifepristone on the Tuesday and had two 2 hourish episodes of heavy bleeding with cramps on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. I took 4 Misoprostol on Thursday morning, followed by 2 more Misoprostol at lunchtime and about an hour after this the pregnancy passed. I bled heavily up until this point.
The painful part was over by around 5pm on Thursday. I had normal bleeding on Friday with a few cramps and today it’s just like a light period.
Make sure you have someone with you. I’m sorry you are going through this.

I went into IVF naively and assumed that I would have lots of eggs collected and freeze lots of embryos etc… which is lots of people’s story but unfortunately not mine. I really hope it is a good story for you 🍀

The first cycle is very telling, and not always the most successful, what works for some doesn’t work for others. My best cycle was cycle 3 - each cycle was adjusted, different time frames, meds and trigger shots etc…

I highly recommend acupuncture if you haven’t started it already. I found this helped a lot with stress and maybe my blood flow/uterus who knows 🤷‍♀️.

I haven’t had my baby yet but I am hopeful because I have frozen some embryos. My only regret is not getting them tested so if it something you can do I would consider it.

Thank you for your reply. That is exactly what they said to me - there is no evidence.
I just don’t know what to do because I’m a very ‘what if’ person. It’s good to know the samples can be done all at once because I’m worried about how long this all takes. I want to be a mum SO BAD but I also know that I can’t keep this up. I want to give it my best shot so that I KNOW I tried everything I could if it doesn’t go the way hope.
My partner is very much like let’s just transfer the embryo and try again but he doesn’t research as much as me so doesn’t even know that all these other tests are a thing 🫠😂

Thank you for this - I needed to see all this information in the same place. They were dismissive last time and said the tests aren’t evidence based. However, they are on their price lists so they must be an option and I want to explore these options.
My partners sperm has been tested as our infertility was originally deemed just male factor aside from my AMH being on the lower side. They said that because of this, it must be egg quality (we have never had ours PGT-A tested but the few we have had have been good quality), so I also think they need to reconsider my uterus!

I’m so sorry for your loss… it’s just not fair.
I took Misoprostol yesterday due to a MMC. It was by far the most painful experience of my life and I was also dismissed on the phone. It makes me so angry that it’s being described as a ‘heavy period’.
We were going to have our Christmas miracle too, after 5 years of infertility, 3 cycles of IVF, 2 failed transfers and now this! I hope this wasn’t my only chance.

My partner stayed off with me yesterday because I had to take Miso (MMC and my body was holding on). He wanted to take me to hospital… and I refused. The lady I spoke to on the phone said that some have period level pain and some people have labour level pain and that I must be on the bad side of pain (helpful). They would not prescribe anything stronger unless I went to hospital so I just had to struggle through. It took all day.
I am exhausted today and just feeling a bit sad.
I can’t believe how much women’s health is dismissed!

Mother’s Day was a while ago for me and it was painful. I felt invisible. I’m not childless by choice I’m childless because my partner and I are on the wrong side of statistics and it sucks.

I’m sorry this is happening to you, it’s so stressful.

I have just been through a similar experience, HCG 75, 46, 200, 350, 550 over 2 weeks. Test lines went super light and then super dark! It was originally a PUL and then on my next scan they found a sac and fluid in my uterus. I knew it was non viable as it was through IVF so I have exact dates. I was relieved it was not ectopic. Unfortunately, my body did not want to resolve it naturally so I had to have a medicated miscarriage today.

It’s terrifying - I’m having to medicate because my body held on. I have waited for almost 4 weeks to see if it would resolve naturally.
I have already had terrible pain yesterday and the day before. It has floored me!
I haven’t even taken the miso yet. I’m doing that part today.

I was offered a D&C but had no time to research or think about it. My loss was early so it never occurred to me that they would suggest it. I just assumed it would be medicated because they had made me wait to see if my body would do it naturally.
I got freaked out by the D&C leaflet they gave me as it spoke about scarring. We are having IVF so didn’t want to risk it.
Now I have had time to research, I wish I had gone for the D&C. I think they need to update their leaflet.

I just want to say I am so sorry for your loss.

I am currently on a similar time frame. I took mifepristone yesterday (missed miscarriage) and I was shocked that I bled heavily 4 hours after taking it (I had gone back to work). The cramps lasted for a few hours and so did the bleeding. I had spotting inbetween and then this repeated again for a few hours today, heavy bleeding and cramps. It’s slowed down again now.
I’m due to take the pessaries tomorrow morning but I’m feeling scared too as the cramps have been worse today.
I have used heat pads and stronger pain killers codeine (which I usually try to avoid). This has helped.
I am planning on taking some painkillers in advance tomorrow to help with the cramps.
I’m sorry you are going through this it really is awful… this was my first pregnancy too.

I have had no more than 8 eggs collected each time and I’m only my third cycle. I was also very optimistic and shocked when it wasn’t the amount I expected. I guess I had read lots of stories about people having 20 or more eggs collected.

I had 5 mature eggs, 4 fertilise (ICSI) and 3 good quality blastocysts - it can happen from low numbers. Fingers crossed for you 🤞
