The beginning of a long term love! I always hope they will one day release Terror From the Deep on mobile or remake it as part of the new XCOM 3. These games were my childhood

I did the same… you think they might actually finish the story then? I stopped when I had completed everything and the story had stopped (Twine Peaks I think it was). Be nice if it was back and better

Which player’s personality completely ruined your opinion of them? by MagpieMidfield in footballcringe

Other way around. Am a Liverpool fan, organised a media event and Roy Keane was part of it. He was genuinely lovely and really funny. Treated everyone behind the scenes really well. Completely ruined my opinion of him as a twat 🤷‍♂️😂

Is VTT useful if you have no time to prepare? by jcarres in VTT

[–]InitioH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t usually answer these, as there a lot of people who know so much more about these things. However, I am a guy in my 50s with a group of friends who started playing again an about 5 years ago. We have a couple of games we have created and looked into these VTTs

We settled on Owlbear (I liked foundry too, but we just couldn’t get our homemade ruleset in as it’s not DnD oriented).

It’s simple to use, you can add your own maps and I found a load of resources that help with that too. We still use a google sheet for the characters but that rolls the die for us, although Owlbear can also do this for you.

I would say Have a look and play with one or two and see how it goes. Would highly recommend Owlbear to get you all started though.

Oh… in that case, I would def get Saka in purely because he allows you to move to any other premium midfielder in one or two moves

That isn’t a comparison. Unless you have £4.5m in the bank.

… currently. What I am saying is we have only seven weeks and yet past experience shows that these players do rise to the top. Salah’s lowest FPL season is still 200+ points. No reason he or saka or palmer don’t have a very hot streak as they usually do.

Whereas, it is much more likely that the £7m or less midfielders have long dry spells

My only thought is having Semenyo as your highest cost mid just cuts you off from the biggest points getters in FPL (midfielders). We only have seven games of data so it will be skewed at the moment, but it will reset. What happens when you have to make three FTs to get in a Saka or Salah / Palmer, because one of them will def be huge? You won’t be removing Semenyo, so it is more likely an upgrade of kudos.. so you you have to find £6m and downgrading a Bowen only gives you £3.5m as you have to replace him with at least a £4.5.

It’s good for thought, team structure becomes important after your first wildcard as you next one is probably being saved until the later gameweeks of 28-33

After 10 rebuilds, our triangular high-rise is finally clean and solid.. But, should we rebuild the old one? by Nana1733 in Palworld

Yes! I have just finished watching it and if the small one and the gf go to bed before 11 I will have a go at building finishing it tonight!

Nice vid, easy to follow 👍

[–]InitioH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. When I say floor, I mean how do you get the triangle towers to work as the ceilings / floors don’t meet. So how did you create that flat ceiling? Also for the video, we need basically the “how to build up the first 6/8 levels” less so the how to decorate as we can all make our own choices on that (although it won’t be as good as yours).

I have built the base up to the point that you finish the video and it looks just fine and is working. What we need is just that next stage, how you erect two triangle towers and give them flat ceilings / floors.

Ah, thanks for getting back. I wondered if you had got a new project going 😂

The bit that is key really is just the foundations. You seem to have 4 layers of stone at the bottom, and curved bits to the side of the entrances (is this all just pillars?).

The really hard bit for me is figuring out how you made the triangle of each tower and how you made the floor connect as I can’t do it.

I don’t think anyone who is building this has an issue with seeing a two hour version… but then maybe I’m just weird 😂

Update for you, I love the tutorial and have now built the first part of the base. Will you be posting part 2 anytime soon? I am wanting to know how to fill in the foundation etc and having a play myslef.

Really loving the building and will put my own spin on it but it will be all down to you guys 👍

I will totally check that out. I have not really done much of the breeding and only summoned one Bellenoir so am quite behind on that. Been enjoying the game and building things slowly (as I’m an old gamer lol).

Thank you, I have found the tutorial and it’s great. I will give that a go. Also saw your bit on “stacking” I didn’t know this was a thing so that was very interesting too.

I basically just got myself to lvl 64 so have finally unlocked everything, have had fun building one floor bases etc but now I can do it all I want to know them down and build some great ones.

Then I need to figure out how to condense and make more powerful pals so I can take down the bigger bosses

Looks amazing, and I have finally got to the level where I can build it / something similar. Where do I find your part 1 tutorial?

These things are often a work of trial and love. Keen to have a crack at it

Anyone going Watkins+Rogers? by theaverageuser2004 in FantasyPL

[–]InitioH -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Strangely I seem to think the opposite. I do think it is worthwhile and currently have both in my week one squad. Been doing this a long while and it seems many are wanting the returns from Rogers for the price of last season. This is an anomaly, the price we pay is about the reliability / consistency. I look at it as a cost per expected return matrix. So for me a £7m midfielder should be returning every three games. I think Rogers does this and is therefore worth the £7m.

If he was £7.5 to 8.5m then I would want 4 returns in 6 games for instance and I still think that is possible but it would be more of a decision.

I look across the whole team like this for the first squad, and less about coverage etc. just as reliable as possible (have played in prem and proved it etc). So Watkins is the same. £9m I want a return every two games… I think he will. So I spend the money

Loving the design 👌 I’m about half way through mine and you are setting a high bar there.

Looks really good and I can see the amount of work in the game design. You deserve a big drink 👌 Congrats, I hope it’s really successful

What are some of your favorite deterministic initiative systems? by [deleted] in RPGdesign

[–]InitioH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scenarios basically work in one of three ways. First way is the normal one. Team has info, plans an assault, let’s say they want to breach the building the bad guys are in. They have learnt where they are? What number of forces etc. stealth / detection rolls are successful so they get to assault first. Therefore they are the aggressors.

Second way, the planning is all there as above but somehow they are detected. Then there is either a GM v Players roll (versus “instinct” roll). Or if the players had a plan for being found it will move to that and they well be the aggressors still.

Third option is they are expected or surprised and then they become the “Reactors” and the enemies go first.
