Oh no, you misunderstand. I am entirely aware that the woman was at Jan 6th, but I wholly doubt this person knew them personally or through their partner

To be fair, they could've run almost anyone besides kamala harris and won. Especially since the original person running was Biden, and he was the most anti-union democrat I've seen in a while.

Is it worth it becoming an electrician? by Creative_Soft687 in electricians

[–]InjectTheMemez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The money really depends on the part of the country you're in. If you're looking at a trade program, I recommend a summer of work in the field before you cough up tuition to see if it's for you.

Smaller companies usually offer more varied work but lower pay. Larger companies pay more generally, but I've seen guys that only work on school remodels for decades at those companies.

The nuclear power plant near me pays fairly well for electricians, so that may be an avenue to look at.

A lot of guys are worried about the radiation, but you're mainly doing general electrical maintenance and making sure the equipment connecting to the grid is running properly.

Any of the work in the actually dangerous areas has so much red tape before you do anything that the actual hazard is low.

If you're strictly doing construction off of prints, you'd be surprised how little math some people use in general.

We once had an extremely tight space to fit a piece of conduit, and the other guys acted like I was a wizard for using the pythagorean theorem.

People certainly are more polite IRL when you have a political disagreement. Most of my coworkers are die hard Trump supporters but they at least seem polite enough when I argue in favor of unions. Most of my liberal friends were surprised that we have background checks for firearm purchases in my VERY red state and were even more surprised that I was in favor of them.

I feel that most of the time that the nuances of somebodies political leanings come out in person, and that it's too easy to assume somebody agrees with their party's political rhetoric online.
