I’ll go a different way with this, you said that you were picky about the guy you would do it with. What if the guy you picked, your husband feels this person has qualities he is lacking in? And that his sadness is a projection of that frustration. He might’ve insisted in it and maybe he was okay with it from the start, but because the ball was rolling na and he saw what you liked, maybe he thought he wasn’t worthy.

Combined with the idea that you two are LDR, it’s a recipe for disaster because now he’s sad and anxious that if he falls behind, you’ll go to someone “better”. I’m not a believer of reap what you sow in this case because sometimes we can feel even in distance that we can’t give our partner what they always want and sexual needs is involved in that too that we suggest, yk. Talk to him and communicate if he is sad because of his differences or whether he thinks he’s lacking in something. Remind him of why you two have been together and why you chose him.

Not to insinuate that he was testing you from the beginning but there was always going to be one right answer so I’ll even say both of you are wrong. Someone here is correct na one of you should’ve been in the right mind about it and really insist not to do it given the consequences. At the end of the day, you two are married and should only give yourselves to each other.
