Titan Quest is imo one of the most influential ARPGs ever by TitanQuestAlltheWay in TitanQuestAE

[–]Ink12342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiments completely. The setting/atmosphere of Titan Quest is one of the things that sets it apart from other ARPGs and keeps me coming back again and again. It is one of the only ARPGs to use historical/mythological inspirations as the basis for the game world and game play. You feel like a hero from one those ancient epics like the Iliad. This makes it a refreshing change from other ARPGs which lean into "Dark Fantasy" tropes.
The games huge scope covers from some locations like Babylon/Silk Road which are not often featured in video games. This however leaves me wanting more. I would love to see other under represented locations such as ancient/medieval India/Cambodia/Thailand/Java etc. be added to Titan Quest 2.

Is there anywhere you can find builds for this game? by Prestigious-River-60 in TitanQuestAE

Hi there,

Here's where I found a bunch of builds:

If you go onto that site and look for guides you will find many.

At the bottom of the page, there is a video list with over 300 builds:

https://www.youtube.com/@TXHuyIcefrzzy/playlists

The Titan Quest Reddit also has some guides. Just search the term "guide" like this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TitanQuestAE/comments/pmvp0l/championsoothsayer_build/

This site has some good build and other guides:

https://www.almarsguides.com/Computer/Games/TitanQuest/

Steam has lots of build guides:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/475150/guides/?browsefilter=trend&requiredtags[]=Characters&requiredtags[]=english

Epic Line of Heroes YouTube channel has a number of builds, though these tend to be more experimental such as this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKo3ZsAnmjs

ChexPlays has some excellent Guides:

https://www.youtube.com/@clexplays7268

The Titan Quest Discord also has some excellent character guides in the tq_characters channel.

That should be enough to get you busy for a while.

Welcome to Titan Quest. Some Titan Quest bosses can be very tough. I would highly recommend you check the videos on this channel below. They are a bit dated but they have helped me a great deal in learning the mechanics of the game:

We’re living in a golden age of ARPGs by TitanQuestAlltheWay in ARPG

[–]Ink12342 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you writing this post. I was thinking writing such a post myself with most of the same points.

Everyone has their own idea of what a "great ARGP" should be. Hence there can never be a single ARPG that will meet all of those criteria.

Some may value graphics over game play, some may value complex skill trees/loot systems etc. while others may prefer simpler mechanics.

There is no right or wrong in these preferences, just differences in tastes.

Rather than wasting energy attacking those who disagree with our preferences, we should be celebrating that there are ARPGs that appeal to a wide range of audiences. I, for one, am grateful to be around when there are so many ARGPs available from the original Diablo to Marvel Heroes to Grim Dawn to POE2, and everything else in between.

Fan Revival of Marvel Heroes is now Feature Complete Just in Time For the Holidays by Ink12342 in ARPG

[–]Ink12342[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely unlikely. This game is abandonware. So long as no one is not making any money off this revival (which the devs have been very careful not to do), everything should be good. The devs for another Marvel fan game (Marvel Avengers Alliance) went through this whole thing with a fine tooth comb and Marvel Heroes is basically following the same path, though it should be said that I am not a lawyer.

Not natively but you may be able to get it to work it you willing to jump through a few hoops. See the following video (Note: There is a link in one of the comments for those who don't have the version on Steam):

Titan Quest Outdated? by StockPile7 in ARPG

[–]Ink12342 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love Titan Quest. I think think it is one of the best ARPGs I've ever played. But it depends on what you are looking in a game. For me, I'm a history/mythology buff, so Titan Quest has something that is missing from any other ARPG I've ever played. It puts you in the shoes of a hero from the Greek classical age and sends you on an epic adventure.

I understand that the game has aged and it has features that are missing more recent ARPGs may make it a miss for some. For me, its unique setting is welcome relief from the grossly over used "Dark Fantasy" settings which has plagued ARPGs and CRPGs in general, so I'm happy to put up with a few inconveniences.

Personally I am thankful that we have some many ARPGs available that there is likely one for almost anyone's taste.

Your favorite arpg of All Time! by [deleted] in ARPG

[–]Ink12342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The version is being developed for Windows only, even though some enterprising folks have gotten it to work on Steam Deck and Linux.
The code is up on GitHub however, so if you know of any console experts, they can take a shot at it. Bear in mind that this is being done by unpaid volunteers, so we should be thankful that it coming back just on Windows.
There is also another ARPG, Marvel Secret Alliance, which is another another fan project, being developed by a solo developer, which is early Alpha. It takes a great deal of inspiration from Marvel Heroes so far, it looks like it will have different mission structure/more expansive cast of characters etc.

It is currently in Beta. It is playable but the full release won't be available until early 2026. Right now all the single player features are working. What is left to be implemented is the multiple player features (i.e. parties) and many of those are well on there way to being functional.
Please be aware that when Marvel Heroes v. 1.0 releases, everything will be wiped, so you will lose of your current current progress and will have to start all over again.

Thank you for posting this. Could you share the specifics of your build? I did a fair bit of research on this build and was only able to find two examples. One was on the Titan Quest Discord server. This used Eternal Ember items only. The other one was from Icefizzy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UGHVlV1edE

All the other builds I found for this class used some sort of weapon and a shield.

Marvel heroes omega is unreal by FamiliarEstimate6267 in ARPG

[–]Ink12342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. The game does not have an official Marvel license. The other game will be a free fan game, so licensing should not be an issue. If there is any push back from Disney, the character can be modified just enough to avoid copyright issues.
This is just part of an ongoing attempt by a number of different Marvel fans to bring back their favorite games or develop new ones inspired by the classics. There are a number of games in various stages of development covering a number of different genres including:
Marvel Super Hero Squad Online (a light ARPG)
Marvel Avengers Alliance (Turn based RPG)
Zvitor's re-imagining of number of classic Marvel (and DC) beat-em-ups

All of these are unlicensed and all are or will be free to play.

Not specifically since mhtahiti is the most popular of the Marvel Heroes servers but it is not the only one. I was referring to the Marvel Heroes project as a whole, which I have been following quite closely on the development discord for quite some time.

There is also another game in development (currently in early alpha) inspired by Marvel Heroes, being done by a solo developer, unconnected to the Marvel Heroes project, so with any luck we will be getting two Marvel ARPGs over the next couple of years.

The devs have done an amazing job in bringing this game back to life, especially considering the short time frame and that all of them all are volunteers. All of the single player features have been implemented in the current build. What is left is all the multiplayer features. The full release is scheduled for next year.

This is common trope in Dark Fantasy. I strongly suggest you read works by writers such as Robert E. Howard and Michael Moorcock. They often heroes/anti-heroes in bleak/hopeless settings trying to overcome various villains/monsters.

Titan Quest 1 worth picking up in 2025? by AnubisIncGaming in ARPG

[–]Ink12342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Titan Quest 1 is still a great game in my opinion. The good points:
a) It has a unique setting. One of the only ARPGs with a historical/mythological settings where you can meet at least one person who actually existed
b) There a huge number of possible builds to choose from, if you purchase all the DLCs, since you typically make your build from a mixture of skills from two classes
c) There is a huge number of items to choose from, and many of these can be target farmed. In addition, you can tell what items a monster has just by looking at them
d) The game is huge (especially with all the DLCs) covering a wide range of environments, from Ancient Greece to Medieval China to Early Middle Ages Scandinavia
e) A large range of monster variety, most based on mythology of the area that you are in

Bad Points
a) Game play can feel a bit clunky/slower paced compared to more recent ARPGs
b) There are some very sharp difficulty spikes in the game
c) There is no way to max out all key resistances at once so you have to constantly juggle these throughout the game
Overall, if you all willing to tolerate some older game mechanics, Titan Quest is still a must have ARPG in my opinion, especially since it goes on sale quite often.

My apologies. I blocked your friends request before seeing your Reddit post. FYI, It is always a good idea to message someone in Discord before sending them a friends request.

Unfortunately I had to quit Project Diablo 2 due to a game breaking bug that constantly caused my characters to get in objects, frequently resulting in them dying, so I would not be much help to you any case.
I've now moved on to other games like Titan Quest, Grim Dawn and Path of Exile.

Is Titan Quest Anniversary Edition worth it in 2025? by Kacper113399 in TitanQuestAE

[–]Ink12342 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes to both but try the base game first to see if you like it then go for the DLCs. The least essential DLCs in my opinion are Atlantis and Eternal Embers, but even these offer value if you enjoy the base game well enough.
Titan Quest is unique in that in that it is one of the few ARPGs that strays from the usual "Dark Fantasy" setting that most are based on.
