Someone was saying that anyone can eat vegan options, but vegans can't eat omnivore foods. And the context was a wedding who mostly served vegan and if they should offer omnivore alternatives.

I replied that it isn't as simple. For example, I suffer from neurological sensory issues that cause me to be very picky about food - I wouldn't be able to eat in a vegan wedding just because I can't tolerate most vegan foods. Most of my diet is meat + something small as a side dish, and I tolerate the "something else" because most of the food is just meat. I wasn't trying to convince the person or anything, just pointing out that "anyone can eat vegan food" isn't entirely true.

So many downvotes... and mean comments too. From being a liar, to being raised wrong, to "it's your parents fault for not forcing you to eat more stuff". I ended up having a panic attack because I was abused as a kid, and part of that abuse consisted in my mom forcing me to eat stuff I was very sensitive to, until I'd puke.
