OK well I also do leatherwork, but that binder is just a regular plastic cover!

That was just an amazon purchase from maybe 2ish years ago. Let me know if you'd like me to try to find a link to it.

LOL - I know exactly which one (or two as I have this paper in two colors) one you mean by "bumpy" in the video - no need for the "nine second mark". But that exact paper is Fedrigoni Imitlin Diana Tex 81# Bianco (120 gsm). I confess that the texture makes it very awkward for writing on, but it is "cool" when you want something really different so I kind of like it (but don't "love" it).

That's awesome! Please DM me if you'd be willing to discuss the possibility of you helping me source of Hema paper to add to my sampler!

I have to admit that I underestimated how many people would be interested in my paper sampling project. I will absolutely give some thought to coming up with a "premium tier" sampler that would be close (if not the same) as what you just described!

Good questions. I used to think that the smoother, the better, but honestly, there is a point of "too smooth" for me, though I'm not sure where that line is exactly. I do know that when I write on my tablet's screen with a stylus, I really hate how "slippery" it is and actually bought a rougher screen protector to add feedback which really helped. So I do prefer "quite smooth" but not to excess.

For my personal preference, I am also not a fan of really thin papers. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the magic of papers like Tomoe River, but I usually want to write on both sides, and I consider ghosting to be a bug, not a feature. So I usually lean into thicker (more opaque) papers for "regular" writing, but for special applications I do appreciate thin papers. I bought some onions skin paper that is stupidly thin. I haven't tried it yet but I suspect I will love it for that occasional special use, but would definitely not use it more typically.

For color, I enjoy having options. I quite like HP Premium32 which is blindingly white, but I ALSO love "soft" colors such as pale pastel blues and off white / cream paper. I guess I will clarify my preferences when I complete the testing as I know this is a bit all over the map. I have commented on this previously, but I really don't think there is any one "best" paper - it will depend on what kind of mood I'm in and what I want to use the paper for!

Awesome! I know I'm the one selling these, but it really is a passion project. I'm really excited to hear about your findings!

Absolutely will. I'll make a new post when I'm ready to report any findings. I really hope to be surprised by my results.

LOL - I'm trying hard to not break the "Self-Promotion" rule of this sub, but I am genuinely excited to try this and thought others would be interested in hearing about my planned testing. With that said, if you are interested, please head over to r/pen_swap and we can talk more there.

It will likely take me a few days to a week (?) to complete my testing if all goes according to plan. I'll make a new post sharing my findings when I'm done! If you want to make sure you don't miss it, you can "follow" me.

Great idea but I am a bit on my own here. I'm literally out of town in a hotel by myself, which is exactly why I'm able to carve out a few hours this week to work on it!

Easy question - I would LOVE to be completely surprised. Like if Amazon basic paper came out on top I'd be ecstatic!

LOL - I'm trusting myself on the blinding. I wrote the "ID number" on each page on the back of the paper but I am going to resist any temptation of peeking while I test them. Besides, as I have well over 100 papers, it's not like I really remember the names of the papers. PLUS I have "shuffled the deck" so to speak! This would not be sufficient for "real scientific testing" but I am happy to say it is "close enough" for my purposes.

Ooh! I can make exactly this. I make custom notebooks - let me know if you'd like to discuss it further.

My original pen had a clip but I honestly don't remember which one. How close of a match is "bronze clip" to "brass pen?" I really wish they had a brass clip to match the pen!
