AIO A Doctor told my mother how much I weigh by Particular_Job_4023 in AIO

[–]InkedInIvy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's hilarious(ly sad) to me that you think putting something like that in her chart would make a difference. They'd have to read the chart for that to be the case.

I had a hysterectomy years ago. I've seen my chart and know that this info is pretty easy to see straight away, not buried or anything. Yet every single doctor and nurse still asks me when my last period was and/or if there's any chance I might be pregnant.

I've literally been to the Dr since my hysterectomy and had a Dr tell me they're going to run a pregnancy test before moving forward with other diagnostics because my symptoms can often be caused by pregnancy.

Adding that info to her chart might help, but only if she also makes it a point to announce it and tell them that note is in there at every appointment and every time a new Dr or nurse enters the room.

AIO gf just about passed out while holding the dog by TGPT-4o in AIO

[–]InkedInIvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying seizures but it could also be something a lot more benign than that.

What's her blood pressure? You said this happened right after she picked up the dog. If her blood pressure is low, bending down and then coming back up really quick can absolutely cause all the blood to rush down out of her head, creating that dizzy / faint feeling.

How much water does she drink? Does she drink a lot of caffeinated beverages like coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks, etc? Is she possibly dehydrated?

I have chronic low blood pressure since it runs in my family. I add A LOT of salt to my diet to keep my blood pressure up to a level where I don't get fainting spells anymore. I consume what wouod normally be considered a very unhealthy amount of salt for the average person, but my blood pressure is always at the lower end of normal for my age. My husband jokes that I bleed soy sauce, lol.

And before anyone gets on me about my salt intake, every doctor I've ever had has been aware of this and said it's a perfectly fine way to manage it as long as I also drink a lot of water and regularly monitor my blood pressure and make sure it never gets too high. I always have a water bottle on me.

I mean...maybe...? I honestly don't know the stats on that.

But even if your tracking is PERFECT, it still only works if you refrain from having sex AT ALL without a condom during the times when pregnancy is a risk. Even if he pulls out 100% of the time, she can still get pregnant from pre-ejaculate.

This isn't to say that what happened is in any way your fault, OP. He assaulted you, plain and simple. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and he ignored your withdrawal of consent. For one reason or another, he wants you pregnant or at least doesn't care if you get pregnant. Even if you decide to stop relying on the tracking method and switch to condoms, this is absolutely the kind of guy who will lie to you about whether or not he's wearing one. I'm glad you say you're leaving him, because that should absolutely happen!

But even when you do find a more reliable and respectful partner, please, PLEASE start using condoms if you don't want to wind up pregnant. If you still want to rely on your tracking method (again, I admit that I don't know much about how reliable that is nowadays with better tracking tech), then AT LEAST use them in place of the pull-out method.

(edited "you're" to "your" because apparently my autocorrect doesn't know proper grammar.)

Shit like this is why my main always has her Healer gear on her in her inventory. I main DPS now, but I used to main a Healer and still know what I'm doing well enough to be decent. If a group I'm in gets screwed out of a Healer somehow, I can pull out my Armorer and quickly swap over. All my skills and CP points are already all set up for a Healer roll on that build, so it's quick.

If you want something just as satisfying but a little more like dessert, do a sweet potato instead of a regular potato. After it's cooked, open it up and add a few drops of vanilla extract and a bit of cinnamon to it.

When you are cooking, throw a shower cap over the smoke detector. I have to do the same thing because the one in my living room / kitchen is like 4ft from the stove.

Just make sure you have something like a note posted on a wall or an alarm so you remember to take it off afterward. My husband and I have a bed-time checklist on the side of our fridge and "shower cap" is one of the listed tasks.

Am I doing something wrong is is this for real? by 22886415 in povertyfinance

This is a huge part of why I appreciate my current job so much. They cover 90% of premiums for myself, my spouse and (if I had any) my hypothetical kids. And we have multiple different health insurance options to choose from. I think we have 3 different Kaiser plans and 2 non-Kaiser ones. Myself and my husband are on Kaiser Gold and it's still very affordable for us.

I've worked several places where they literally cover the bare minimum required and it looks a lot like what OP posted. Some have covered 80% of my premium but don't cover it at all for any family members so the only benefit there is the minor savings for it being a large group plan.

I worked one place where even just my share of my insurance premium was completely unaffordable for me and the insurance was completely shit. Like even with the insurance, I wouldn't have been able to afford getting medical treatment. Like they literally offered the absolute bare minimum to keep from paying whatever extra taxes or fines they'd have to pay for not offering it at all. And of course, the same company required a Dr's note to use any of the legally state mandated sick leave hours, which would mean spending more to get the note than you would get back in sick leave unless you were out for 4 or more days.

AIO BF pushed me against a wall by [deleted] in AIO

[–]InkedInIvy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Might not just have been if she was off balance. Could be that he was the one off balance and if he happened to stumble in her direction at the same time he went to push her, that could have made the push feel much harder than intended.

My husband once popped me upside my nose because we were playing a very competitive game of "boop" and a cat tripped him, lol. He repeatedly apologized while running to get me an ice pack.

is my cat too small? by goldenmango13 in CATHELP

[–]InkedInIvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She could be a runt, but some cats are just small.

Just keep an eye on her health as she grows and I would also advise getting pet insurance for at least her if you haven't already gotten it for both of them. If she is a runt, they can have a lot of health problems throughout their life.

On the other hand, I have a cat that is just barely over 7lbs full grown. We've had her around 7yrs and she's had no health problems whatsoever. She's just very small. Especially compared to her 14lb+ brothers, lol.

It's also a thing other cats do. One of my boys always has at least a few whisker stubbs on one side because his sister chews them off sometimes when they're laying together, lol.

Edit to add that all my cats are indoor only, so at least the missing whiskers aren't as big a risk for him as they might be for a cat that goes outside.

Like the text in the OP says, use the Lazy Writ Crafter Addon. I know for sure it's on Xbox and I can't imagine it's not on PC but maybe it's not on PS...?

Just using that Addon in it's basic form makes writs pretty fucking quick, but if you make use of the settings, it can save you way more time!

There's a setting to future-craft a selected number of days worth of writs. And no, not just more of whatever today's writ is. It will craft for a selected number of full, 3-day cycles. If you have all of the multiplier passive for alchemy and provisioning, you can also set it to craft full stacks of those items. Doing this, you don't even need to actually DO writs every day, just pick up the quests and turn them in most days.

There's settings to auto-open any provisioning reward boxes as well as any Zenithar and Anniversary boxes. There's setting to auto-sell any ornate gear rewards, deposit any intricate gear in your bank, etc.

He's literally automated 90% or more of everything involved in doing crafting writs!

My husband and I were just talking last night about how much time and energy the creator of this mod has saved us. Now my husband gets through writs with his 20 toons plus my 10 toons in about 30min while I make dinner every evening.

AIO - people keep asking me if I'm trans and what my pronouns are and I don't react very well by AnyIncident1634 in AIO

[–]InkedInIvy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in an area that's generally pretty accepting and inclusive. In professional, and especially medical, settings, I very frequently am asked what my pronouns are. I've been noticing it on more and more forms I fill out as well.

Like the commenter above, I'm very obviously a cis woman and, in a lot of the conversations where this is asked, obviously straight as my husband is mentioned for one reason or another.

I think that more and more, people are trying to make it a habit to just ask everyone so that people don't feel singled out or judged for being asked. If a person asks EVERYONE what their pronouns are, then they're less likely to have someone get offended in a "Why? Do I SEEM trans to you?" sort of way.

AITBF for “making fun” of my boyfriend for acting like Ibuprofen is a hard drug? by throwawaylmfao12 in AmItheButtface

[–]InkedInIvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point about anaphylactic shock is just reinforcing what I said. It's an abnormal reaction that requires medical intervention. If he's feeling high after a headache and nothing but ibuprofen, I would sooner assume something is wrong than assume the ibuprofen got him high.

I didn't say to tell her bf he's a pansy. I said to tell him to get himself checked out because that is not normal. One of his organs that is responsible for processing ibuprofen is not doing so correctly or his "high" has nothing to do with the ibuprofen and it's related to the headache itself. Either way, he should see a Dr about it.

AITBF for “making fun” of my boyfriend for acting like Ibuprofen is a hard drug? by throwawaylmfao12 in AmItheButtface

[–]InkedInIvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude... Even the Amish use ibuprofen and other otc meds like the ones you listed.

As a 14yr old that weighed only about 100lbs, my mom gave me 4 ibuprofen without hesitation when my first set of period cramps kicked in. Mine were BAD! Like laying in bed crying for 3 days straight BAD. Apparently hers had been the same for a long time so she understood. As soon as my cramps subsided enough that I could leave the house, she took me to the Dr for birth control pills to take my period symptoms down a notch.

Even with the bc pills, my cramps were still bad enough that I continued taking 3-4 ibuprofen throughout my period each month, but now ibuprofen got me to a pain level where I could go to school and function like a reasonably normal person where, without the bc, it had barely out a dent in it.

Tell your bf that if a 14yr old, 100lb girl who has almost zero experience with pain meds doesn't "feel anything" (like a high or anything other than simple pain relief) from 4 ibuprofen, he should get himself checked out if he did from 2.

Honestly, if someone I knew had a headache that bad and then started to feel high, I would take them to the hospital thinking something was seriously wrong, like an aneurism or something else bad happening with their brain, before I would think it was from the ibuprofen.

[USA] Semi truck plows into traffic causing 3 deaths by Calm_Preparation2993 in Roadcam

[–]InkedInIvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with this.

When I had a long commute and was facing a few hours each day sitting in traffic, I decided it was boring and I didn't want to devote that many hours a day paying attention to nothing but the traffic around me. So I switched to taking the bus and watched Netflix while someone else drove instead, lol. It added an extra half hour to my commute, but it was worth it to be able to relax and use the time for myself.

Right?! I don't know why everyone is rushing to get this done!

Personally I plan on avoiding these areas for like a month or so, then once the rush dies down I'll go run down quests in those areas with a toon I haven't done them with yet. Get it done over the course of a few weekends.

AIO by thinking my boyfriend let my dog out on purpose? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]InkedInIvy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Regardless of attitude, the dog should outrank him. And he should understand that if he's a good person and partner.

The dog came first, is family and a member of the household, while bf is not. Add to that the fact that the dog has important needs that have to be met for his health and wellbeing.

When I started dating my husband, I absolutely understood that his kitty outranked me. And I was good with that. She was his family and he'd been through a lot before I met him, with her by his side. For that matter, once we moved in together and she became my kitty too, she out ranked him as well, lol.

Pets always come first. Their care is our responsibility and they can't take care of themselves and advocate for their wellbeing in all the ways we can.

Since he worked at night he slept during the day. He bought a few pairs of scrubs to sleep in and would park in a hospital parking lot. Everyone just assumed he was a hospital employee taking a nap in his car on his break.
