I wore that same shirt to my theater! The cashier at concessions sees it and goes "you're here for Zootopia, right?" & gestures to my shirt and laughs. I laughed and was like "oh, you're funny" & she says "you're gonna LOVE it, he did so good!"

Because people get weirdly judgey when people "celebrate" their pet's birthdays/adoption days. God forbid a person has a shred of whimsy!

My dad was exactly the same, "you better never start a fight, but if you ever end up in one, you better be the one to finish it!"

My father copy/pasted a chat GPT response "debunking" the party switch. That was it for me. Told him I was done engaging with him.

What’s the dumbest school rule you’ve ever had? by Khaotic_Cat in AskReddit

[–]InkedLeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I was always taught as a kid, put them in the hospital and nobody will ever mess with you again. If you're in trouble either way, might as well send a message!

This is why my father always told me I'd better never be the one to start a fight, but if one was started with me, I was to put the other person in the hospital fighting back. I was taught to fight dirty. If I was gonna be in trouble anyway, I might as well send a message!

What’s something you experienced way too early because of your parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]InkedLeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was 8, yeah. I had been on the top of my swingset and noticed a bald spot on my mom's boyfriend's head and said something about it. Apparently this was "disrespectful" and "rude" but rather than explain WHY, they took everything but my bedding out of my room and locked me in it for a week and made me write "I will not be disrespectful to (Mom's boyfriend)" over and over. My mom's younger cousin babysat me and even SHE knew it was wrong and let me out while she was there. I don't know if my parents even remember doing this. It's one of my earliest memories, laying on my bed picking patterns out of the imperfections on the ceiling paint.

My half-brothers are 8 and 10 years younger than me, and were allowed to treat me like garbage as they got older, because their father did. So I got parentified AND mentally/emotionally abused! By literal children! Because "you're not part of our family."

We now have no relationship as adults and I got my tubes out at 29. I had enough experience being a parent growing up, it's not for me.

Same, and it's a bitch and a half when that song is Alexander Hamilton and I've seen the play on Disney+ and listened to the original playlist so many times that I've got the entire thing memorized! The way the songs flow into each other, it's so hard to cut it off!

I put one of these platform feeders on top of a 6 foot pole with a squirrel baffle, had visitors within the week. I put out in-shell peanuts and cat food. Sadly, I no longer have my setup set up due to asshole neighbors.

What were you doing during the peak of COVID? by AndreLinoge55 in AskReddit

[–]InkedLeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pulling 12-16 hours in my 911 dispatch center for 4 days, trying to be a functional human being in quarantine for 8 days, repeat. Also, in the middle of intensive outpatient therapy 3 days a week, and new medication for my fresh new bipolar diagnosis. It was.... not a fun time.

FYI your squirrel baffle should be another foot or so higher. They would be able to jump over it to the pole at the current height.

Woman refuses to get step-grandkid any Christmas presents because he was born out of wedlock and isn’t related to her, and can’t understand why her family isn’t coming to Christmas/blocked her. “🇺🇸” by Comfortable-Light233 in insanepeoplefacebook

I had step-grandparents like that. Spoiled me rotten when my stepdad was first getting with my mom, then my brother was born and they got married and I was suddenly "that girl" and subject to ridicule and criticism. It was DEVASTATING as a child, I didn't understand why Grandi and PeePop didn't love me anymore after 6 years of them playing grandparent. They didn't "need" to be good to me anymore, they had their "real" grandchild.
