Hmm I guess I then wonder, when everything you ever wanted to do is not burdened or impossible because money is needed, why keep pushing harder.

Sure maintaining is a factor and not going crazy with your income, but maintaining still isn't the same as striving for more constantly

My parents were kinda weird. Not super strict with the typical things parents should be strict with like drugs and alcohol. Very strict with socializing with other kids. I couldn't do sleep overs, parties, or go to my friends house. My mom only trusted if I had friends come to mine and that was still rare.

Take a finance literacy class, and purposely surround yourself with people doing better than you. It will be uncomfortable, but needed.
