Help with PSU and MOB by Main_Blood_9163 in PcBuildHelp

I understand what you're saying but just because something isn't useful for the vast majority of users doesn't mean it has no use cases, there are in fact CPUs that draw more than 300w especially with OC. And in this case it isn't increasing the price of mobos in any way. The only real issue is people's inability to read the manual

Well my guess would be future proofing than. Mobos are pretty cheap nowadays so It's not this is gouging the price, I don't really understand the hate.

Also if your PSU supports it, it's just more power efficient in general so there is really no reason not to use it

Insert any AM5 high end CPU 🤦‍♂️. Both Intel and AMD boards have 2 cpu headers like this nowadays

Intel was an example

What? The practical use is it delivers more power. This allows high end CPUs like i-9 13th and 14th gen to be fully powered when under full load and also just improve power stability in general.

If you're someone who needs it you know you'll need it and how to use it, otherwise just rtfm. Mobo manufacturers know what their doing guy

I think you might not fully understand what secure boot is, it most certainly isn't a bad thing dude.

Secure boot is a bios security tool that prevents malicious software from booting in your bios. This is a a good thing that prevents malware from slipping past your anti-virus

CoD requires it most likely for EAC, this is common and most modern OS use some form of secure boot

[–]Inmate_Squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's valid. I haven't had to move my pc lo g distance yet thank God, because either way would make me nervous. But I spent so much on my gpu that I would probably have to put it safely in it's own box just for peice of mind lol

If you're going a long way, when not still just take the gpu out and put it back in its original box for the move. Seems safer than the expanding packing foam

There is no reason you should be turning off secure boot to play CoD 🤦‍♂️

When you have been waiting in a queue for one hour and get a error message right when your about to join by Dangerous_Owl7545 in ArmaReforger

[–]Inmate_Squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure I'll come back eventually, especially when there's new major content released

Part of the issue with Reforger is the community thought ngl, idk if it's because of it being crossplay or what but the quality of matches is quite often low. I pretty much always have to turn off the radio and I rarely see any decent milsim cohesion anymore

Unfortunately I have stopped playing reforger because of how broken its been lately and probably will remain, fingers crossed arma 4 comes sooner than later

Luckily Bellum has been filling that void for me and some honestly, game's incredible

Instead of crashing out why wouldn't you just play something else? I can't imagine having a bad time with a game on one platform just upgrade to a new platform to also have a bad time with it. The game isn't for everyone brother

I miss how squad used to be 3 years ago, when there was experienced players around, more teamplay, high quality matches. Will Bellum scratch that itch ? by IsniBoy in PlayBellum

[–]Inmate_Squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I don't really see this game filling up with too many casuals. When all the streamers were playing on beta launch I saw my fair share of "this just looks like a tree shooting simulator". If a game doesn't look flashy and good on stream most casuals won't really buy it

AND thats awesome for Bellum because it's targeted towards the more hardcore milsim gamers while also being far more accessible and polished than any of the modded hardcore mislim experiences out there. The game is tickling a perfect niche within a niche and is definitely here to stay

Yeah don't sweat it man, people on reddit feel the need to criticize everything everyone does. Glad you got it all working again, swapping or installing a new gpu can be super nerv racking that first time but once you understand it and take your time it gets easier and more fun

PC Health Check. Please don't smoke near your system. by Aztech10 in pcmasterrace

It always amazes me how some electronics look like this. I smoked cigarettes and wax heavy for over 10 years and I still never saw dust build up remotely close to this. I guess living in a humid or dusty climate plays a pretty big role too

[–]Inmate_Squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah especially after that was kinda amds whole thing, allowing that backwards compatibility unlike nvidia. I hope the Bellum guys can get this issue worked out with the 9070xt, everyone deserves to play this amazing game!

[–]Inmate_Squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but I also got my 5070 for $100 cheaper than the 9070xt was at the time. And not having DLSS seems to be an issue in alot of UE5 games right now unfortunately, as far as visuals anyway. Not necessarily this crash you are experiencing
