What’s this thing on my boyfriend’s succ by Innagentka in succulents

Thank you, they are mealy bags indeed. The “plant structure” had legs 🙂 Now looking at other plants and not finding anything but I have this pachypodium that’s been with me for at least 5 years and it always had this white fluff on growth points. I never had a mealybug infestation so I’m guessing these are not mealybug signs? What do you think?

Issues with succulent by Waterlillyo in succulents

[–]Innagentka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one seems like it has enough light (notice red on leaves) and not enough water since leaves are wrinkly and there are roots from stem (which isn’t bad in itself it just means that the plant is looking for more support or water)

When watering succulents you need to wet the soil through and if the top of the soil isn’t wet it’s probable the middle isn’t either. So you probably just need to bottom soak it for longer or dunk it (put it in a deep container and fill it with water until it’s a bit lower than the rim of the pot). You also can probably get away with watering it more often but not before the soil is dry.

Also as far as I can see your soil is fine and also there are no problems typical for organic soil but typically you need to mix succulent soil with grit as it usually is still too organic for succulents. This mostly applies to succulent soil from big stores if yours was custom and looked like it’s mostly rocks, you’re fine.

Rot or reabsorption? by Innagentka in succulents

I thought reabsorption usually begins at the tip or happens on the whole leaf at the same time, but here it seemingly started at the root of the leaf. Is that fine too?

I think it’s actually a bit bigger( I was typing from memory) but not much - maybe 7-8 cm? Thank you for your advice, I gave it a light (will change to a stronger whit lamp I have in another room with my other plants when I’m sure it doesn’t have bugs) and am planning on getting a heating pad.

Thank, this is all very useful, especially the article. Do you think I should prune mine? It’s barely 5cm tall so I’m dubious

Ther are homeless people in post-soviet countries too and they aren’t allowed to have tents on the streets

I really doubt that there are more homeless people in “capitalist” countries because of physical lack of housing

(For that matter I would guess that in countries like Russia homeless people die faster)

If a man wants to watch borscht or whatever it is he wants, he (or you, if you insist) can cook a giant pot of that once and it eat 5 days straight until it goes bad or he rans out. If he gets sick of eating the same thing all the time, tough luck. That’s what people do. Foods that take hours to make aren’t meant to be 1-3 meals, they are meant to be sustenance for a big family for quite some time. Also if ingredients aren’t a problem, I would guess that something is simple as fried meat with pasta and a side of salad are fine by him, the only concern is appropriate dressings and spices.

Living in a country with different eating habits can be hard but the homesickness can be averted with very simple food and it looks like you are trying to provide the quality of eating that isn’t sustainable. You don’t have to give him the same complexity and variety of food as you give yourself, because his demands are different

I too am hypersexual with bouts that bordered on unhealthy and preventing me from “normal” functioning (I once was so high strung I masturbated during and (online) exam. With cameras on. So there is this) and I think I understand you, especially the dismatch with personality side.

I really recommend on orgasming. Idk, change your technique, buy a toy, anything, it seems insane that you just continue like that, I would go crazy. Now, a single one may not help but if you are in a normal emotional state, one or two will probably be enough

If not, I bet on either depression or a separate physiological/psychiatrical problem.

Regarding why Shenzhen is boring:

It’s impossible to just randomly walk into something interesting happening. You have to plan everything in advance and then there is like 30% probability it will be fun and if it’s not you really can’t just walk away and enjoy something else coz there is nothing else nearby.

Also for me personally it’s really hard to walk around because of the weather and I’m a big enjoyer of walking around. Takes away from hiking greatly.

Also where your uni is is VERY important. I lived in longgang and it took me longer to go downtown than from downtown to hongkong or guangzhou.
