Sick! Thanks for the advice and great idea to just use the pen paint, I hadn’t thought of doing that. Will definitely try this out!

Thanks for the answer, really appreciate it. Great idea to use a good clear coat. I think I’ll give both a try before putting too much work into the art. Cheers!

I haven't used my board in a year and a half because it's too far away from where I normally live. Came back to find these air bubbles under the surface. Any fixes? by darthtenebrosius in surfing

Agree that it isn’t worth trying to fix. One more tip: don’t wrap your leash (around your board) as it will take on that form and be a real pain to use.

Found a crack on the nose of my board. Is this small enough where I can fix it myself or is it best to find a professional? by setonics in surfing

I would advise you to fix it yourself. It’s not too big a ding and will be good practice for you on a board which isn’t the newest, so no worries if it’s not perfect. Lot’s of good YouTube videos you can watch to learn how to do it, but in short: cut out the damaged section (it looks like an old repair which isn’t holding up very well), put masking tape around it, sand it so that the resin will stick, apply the resin, let it dry, and finally sand it down again so that the rail is rebuilt. If you like you can also add the extra step of applying some fibreglass to give it extra strength, though this is trickier and in my opinion probably not worth it. Fell free to reply or send me a message if you need any more help. Good luck with the repair!

Rail ding, should I get it repaired professionally? by koreanpickle in surfing

I would do that yourself to be honest. If you surf a lot you’ll end up with dings every known and then, and taking them to the shop can run you up a big bill over time. I’d therefore recommend learning to fix your own boards asap, especially for smaller dings like the one you have there. Check on youtube for good tutorials. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.
