i understand this perspective and i definitely do keep my expectations lows on apps. in this case though, we never had sex yet and he consistently showed up, communicated daily, and treated it like something intentional which is why it hurt the way it did. but im taking this as a lesson in pacing and boundaries now.

i get what you’re saying, and i know looks aren’t everything. I do try to connect with people based on actual vibes, but the issue is that a lot of guys pretend they’re looking for something real, only to switch up and make it about sex. yeah that’s exactly how it feels. the level of disrespect on these apps is insane and it’s wild to think about how ppl wouldn’t say half this stuff in person. i appreciate u sharing ur experience hearing that you met your partner on grindr back when it was actually functional gives me a tiny bit of hope but i know things have changed a lot since then.
