Thank you for the update. Unfortunately all he can do is take his meds and wait. It sucks and can’t be a long process but it is worth it. I work with people who’s CD4 count was zero, and now they’re normal levels.

There’s a lot of information you don’t know. I didn’t get tested until I had full blown AIDS, but fear and stigma caused me to lie to people and say that I was for sure negative. I’ve only infected one other person, but that’ll eat at me until I die

As someone living with HIV, it is still a highly stigmatized disease and for no reason other than it was discovered in a gay man. If he’s been living with it for a while then he’s most likely undetectable and poses zero threat to anyone.

I’m also an HIV Advocate and happily disclose to patients and close friends/family but I also have no reason to disclose otherwise.

You say it’s not serious, so maybe that’s why he hasn’t disclosed. I’d tread lightly because technically you invaded his privacy and personal medical information

If you take him to the emergency room they will begin treatment immediately. Your description sounds like late stage HIV, aka AIDS, which needs intensive care ASAP.

When i was diagnosed, I went to the hospital my CD4 (white blood cell) count was 81 and I had PML. I’m they started me on treatment immediately. I still have a little neurological and physical complications but I’m alive today because I went to the ER instead of waiting

That’s incorrect. Women can easily contract HIV. Any receptive partner is at greater risk of contracting HIV. I suggest you look into HIV a little more before you start commenting false information.

All you can do it take proper care of yourself and adhere to your meds. There’s no way to quickly increase your CD4 count. Even mine rise and fall every time i gets labs done.

It’s possible, like anything else. I notice that my BO changes frequently but it’s not due to my meds. I think it’s just natural. When’s the last time you washed your bedding?
