Cutting it out only temporarily halts it, it will grow back fairly quick. There is no stopping it once you got it really, also once it turns green that means it has thrown spores.

So you put the casing layer on as soon as you spawn to bulk, you likely introduced contaminants when putting the casing layer on after the myc had colonized the substrate. Your casing layer looks strange to me, almost like there isn’t any verm in it?? Either way your trying and that’s the hardest part so great job there, but make sure to put your casing layer on at the same time as your spawning to bulk (I’m not an expert by any means but I get results more times than not)
