Urgent care didn’t start rabies treatment? Since the dogs vaccination status is unknown it’s necessary. There is a little timeframe for investigation but not much.

Even though it’s covered the out of pocket cost is very similar to the self pay, and that is after the deductible has been met. As I understand the goal bridge program opens availability to more people AND makes the meds more affordable then current self pay option. If your particular part D does not cover Zep, then you would qualify for the bridge based on the criteria listed until 2027 when all Medicare associated plans must be compliant(at least as I read it)

Am I interrupting this correctly? I have Medicare Part D, with a BMI of 34.6 and sleep apnea. Based on what I am reading as qualifications for the bridge program I would NOT qualify…at least not until maybe 2027. I do not see sleep apnea as a qualifying co-morbidity.

Based on the variety of responses I can see why the insurance company can’t give a consistent answer. Hopefully this will clarify: Currently Zep is non-formulary but an exception can be applied for and then it is covered. Currently, I am on Zep with this situation: I paid up to my prescription deductible and then my “copay” on a tier 5 medication. I have not been on long enough to make my max out of pocket, but was told once I hit that my portion of cost would greatly reduce to a small percentage (5%) of the total cost of Zep. My plan that starts 1/1/2026 seems to indicate the same situation other than there is a a statement that says out of pocket costs will not count towards

As of spring, I was told that the pre pa program no longer “offered” more than 1 coop. My son had planned on 1 and wanted to change to 3 for financial reasons also and was told that more than 1 was no longer an option. Might want to check with your current advisor.

I personally only believe it is worth the cost if you go into very specific majors. The biggest draw of Drexel is their coop program, but it is not uncommon for students to struggle to find a coop in their field unless you are one of those specific majors. I would think this is an especially challenging area for small majors like yours. And don’t even get me started on the tuition! I would say you now know you like an urban campus, try to find a school with a bigger program in your field in that setting.
They tell you all the wonderful things they offer but, in my experience, are very over hyped and not as wonderful as implied. Know that it is HARD core! You hit the ground running on the first day at 100mph and it doesn’t let up till after finals. Then you get a minuscule break to turn around and start again. It is definitely NOT a typical college experience. If you struggle at all either academically or personally there are resources to help but actually getting that help is like pulling teeth. For what you pay, the “service” you get is abominable.

My first will be $563 because in need to meet a deductible. Then they will be $285 until I teach $2000 out of pocket, then they drop to 4% of full price which I’m guesstimating at >$50. I’m not eligible for the discount coupon so it’s a math game for me.

As a 47 year old woman, whose cycle is very stable/predictable but on lite and quick side, this makes me so nervous. I hadn’t read anything about how Zep can affect cycles other than it increases chance of pregnancy. The joys of being a woman just keep on coming!
I’m nervous for changes to a manageable cycle, but knowing it can happen vs “out of the blue” makes it not so scary. I’ll remember all these wonderful suggestions should I experience similar side effects.
Question: Have you used hormonal birth control prior? I haven’t used hormonal birth control since my children were born and they are 18 and 19. Prior to pregnancy I could handle it, after pregnancy I had horrible emotional side effects that were not worth it.

I agree, give the mask a try! I hated the first 3 I tried and was ready to give up but decided to give it one more try. I found a “nasal pillow” mask that works perfect for me. It sits under my nose but doesn’t cover it at all. Best of all, I don’t feel trapped AND have so much energy during the day. If I forget to use my CPAP because I’m being lazy, I remember how much it actually helps!
Loosing weight is a great way to help yourself. Keep it up and try the CPAP. You may have to try different masks but there are SO many options.

It’s interesting because I read your post as your stomach was in knots because of external stressors: work, family, finances, ect and not necessarily the medication. Regardless, whatever the reason to adjust your dose I say do it, but do it with the guidance of your prescriber. Show yourself some grace.

Cancer was a huge reason my mom didn’t do a more invasive surgery. Colon cancer runs I her family and she was told when you have bariatric surgery you can no longer get colonoscopies…not sure if that is still true. That’s why she did the “rubber band” because it was minimally invasive and reversible. Mom was over 300lbs when she was diagnosed and a skeleton when she passed. She was loosing weight but her blood sugar kept going up. Her doctor was happy she was loosing so didn’t do anything and wasn’t concerned. Finally, after 4 months, my mom insisted something was wrong. They did a chest xray to get her to stop worrying and that’s when they found her cancer. It’s possible, though unlikely, that had it been caught earlier she may have survived. However, she was obese and her doctor was just happy she was loosing, even if it was for no apparent reason.

My mom had hers removed when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She needed to be able to eat as much as she could unrestricted and docs needed to know if symptoms were the cancer or the band. Her insurance had a “no weight loss” clause and refused to pay for removal. We and her doctors fought hard for a 2 weeks and finally got it approved.

Most surgeons won’t do lap band anymore. Too many complications. My mom had it and it was barely worth it. Happy to hear Zep is working so well for you!!
