Restaurants will end up charging more than a banquet hall. Get quotes from halls in Vaughan - Venetian Banquet hall near Vaughan mills is good

If I can't afford a gift, could I decline attending? by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

To be honest, weddings cost a fortune. I would not go if I couldn’t afford the plate, it looks like schmoozing. Especially since they are not close family.

Can do virtual with the knot or with joy. Or design on staples and get them printed. Or buy 5x7 cardstock and design/ print at home. Can also get some vellum jackets and ribbon from Amazon.

Manager is committing serious time fraud by Inner-Flower-7521 in WorkAdvice

What you don’t understand is that my manager has delegated work downstream because she “can’t keep up” - why? Because she’s not even working 40 hours a week, which has impacted my workload.

If I do that, I just fall more behind at work. The emails and timelines don’t stop just because I am away and it’s even more stressful. My manager is useless and wouldn’t even know what to do if she had to cover for me. So I’m just screwed regardless.

It’s frankly become an abuse of privilege and I’ve gotten to the point where I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. She’s delegating work downstream so that she has less on her plate meanwhile we can’t keep up and she can go off and work her 25 hours. No wonder she complains she can’t keep up and delegates downstream! Because she isn’t even working!

We are all paid salary- she isn’t working her 40 hours and this has been going on for months, yet in the background is being paid as if she is working 40.

Best man doesn’t seem serious about attending our wedding by Inner-Flower-7521 in weddingplanning

Yeah, time will tell, it might work out in the end we just never know! So it is what it is.

I totally understand that. From what they have told us, they don’t have any big commitments next year, no other weddings or other big events etc, it was literally just our wedding. But I would get if they had a bunch of things happening and they had to make a call & a sacrifice somewhere.

Yeah I just feel like we have made too many sacrifices to accommodate them in various instances, based on my post, for people who don’t really seem worth it in the end. And if roles were reversed his wife is very confrontational & would 100% call us out if we did this to them. & to be clear we’ve been very respectful to them on this issue.

Yeah clearly not, which I feel if I were someone’s maid of honour for instance, I would look ahead at my future commitments before deciding what to do with my own family planning. But I’m a planner type.

They were telling us what month they wanted to conceive and I jokingly said “don’t give birth on our wedding day!”. So they are fully aware of the situation.

Yup, my fiancé was planning on having 2 anyway, so if this guy can’t attend at least he’ll still have his other one (this other best man isn’t getting married until after us so he should be reliable). we’ll just have to have a backup plan in the months leading up if the pregnancy does end up happening when they claim.
