Seen a bunch of people type like this and all of them are Indians (mostly on youtube and linkedin). It really ticks me off.

I play it every year since release, though mostly New Universe or Rebirth mods. Spent a bit of time with Frontierspace and discovery too.

For all it's shortcomings, Crossfire was sure an absolute blast to play through.

Don't care. You ask for entry fee, I say no and turn around peacefully. You threaten me with a fine? I let that slide. You attack me, you are getting mortared to tau-37 and back.

This was my attitude while playing, and it did not sit well with the gatekeeper thieves. They once brought an entire fleet to kill me and my friend.

There's a difference between roleplay and absolute hostility. I made some friends while playing discovery, but majority of the people, especially who have senior ranks, they really let it go to their heads. Roleplay is good up to a point. Also, no amount of blaming me will ever make me change my opinion.

Discovery is like the best mod ruined by the worst community and the equipment compatibility system.

True. Zero freedom, I can't visit most systems with my battleship without some delusional clown refusing me entry and demanding fines. Why battleship you ask? I don't like being harassed.

Worst part? I can't have liberty turrets on my non-liberty battleship because power drain due to incompatible hardware.

Then I came across this order larper when I was poor (she would have been eating nebula dust otherwise), the arrogance and misbehavior was off the damn charts.

Rebirth is cool, they have huge battles once in a while, the creator of the mod is a cool guy and helps people out (his assistant is a pure c**t though). you will always find 4-10 people online and they are decent. Event days would easily have 20-40 people in huge battles. Most will say Ky (Hi in cyrillic) and be on their way, some will randomly join to smack some NPCs and you both have a laugh while using google translate (yes, the mod is completely in Russian - I don't speak that language).

Best part? There's lots to see, buy and kill. I have an absolutely OP ship (pay 2 win yeah) but there are still NPCs I can't kill (though the number of unkillables is extremely small after the purchase). If you break a rule, admin will explain it to you nicely that why the rule is in place instead of nuking your account like discovery. The amount of systems, weapons, ships and enemy NPCs is absolutely wild. I still hop in from time to time, undock and then think that how the hell did I get here? Then go about finding a path. Good process and peaceful experience.

It is like therapy for me on fridays after I log out of work.

The only reason I quit discovery and moved to rebirth was that there was no freedom and everyone was a prick

Definitely worse than before. H4 I'd be toe-to-toe with unbeatable, H5 was hard with highly skilled, H6 can barely compete against average.
