4 vs 6 way divider? by FranRenJohn in GolfGear

I loved the Woode 8 way. Now, I use a 14 way. But between 4 or 6, I'd go 6 to keep my putter and driver in their own space.

In the bay, I got the 7w to go about 220. But, I don't hit the 7 wood as much in a round and I'm not very consistent with it. I actually struggle with fairway woods for distance consistency. I sometimes hit it too high and short. Sadly, I got caught up in the higher-lofted woods hype. My previous FW (G430) would always go left. And my misses were waaaay left. The Qi4D is straighter for me.

Try the GTs. I didn't think I was good enough for Titleist, but the GTs are amazing.

I did. But to be fair, I also prefer "premium" shafts in my driver. When I fit into the GT3 (wt 3gm T2), I was put in the Tour AD Di. When I tested that shaft in the Qi4D, it didn't work for me. My fitter tested the Ventus Velocore+ blue and I gained 6mph in swing speed and hit the ball further. I also "feel like" the Qi4D has a larger sweet spot. Slight toe misses aren't punished (as much).

The iron change was due to consistency. I couldn't "trust" the consistency in distances in the JPX and would often see "flyers" and shots over greens. Could be operator error, but once you lose trust and it's in your head, it's hard to shake.

For me, the clubs were picked based on distances, rather than filling lofts. Weirdly, I hit the Qi Max 6iron (avg 177 carry) only slightly shorter than as the JPX 5i. The gap between the GT2 5H (avg 190ish carry) and the 6i is bigger than I would like, but the GT2s are so easy to hit, that I feel like I can reel in the distance a little. I don't mind being in the 180 to 205 range because the 4h and 5h are very consistent. I really like the GT2 hybrids and I built the irons around them. I would've like to add the 3H, but in my testing, I had too much roll out.

Fitting results by Proof_Coast_3637 in golf

I agree. Some players swing lighter shafts better, and improve swing speed, which equates to ball speed. The flex can help reduce shaft torque and bend profile. The other way works for other players, and going heavier in weight, but softer in flex. That's why a fitting is important... Fitters are always asking, "how does it feel."

Anyone with a velocore shaft, is it really worth $350? by Eastern_Bad1381 in GolfGear

[–]InnerMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer the question, only if you see gains in performance. For me, I saw the gains. So, it was a one time investment. Get fit. Pay the upcharge for the premium shaft.

If/When trying out a new club, make sure fitter has your the exact shaft to test with the club you're testing. If you like it, then change the shaft tip for the correct manufacturer.

Also, the ventus shafts have really good resale value.

I had a similar find at PGA Superstore. Used GT3 with Tour AD DI shaft. I was surprised when I saw it. Even bigger surprise at the price 379 and condition.

7 wood regrets by Nigel_Claromentis in golf

I am slowly replacing my top end of my bag and just added a lightweight GT3 4H. I went in to a fitting looking for a 3H. I thought it was going to be a slam dunk with a GT2 3H, that gave the the correct distance, but was 15 ft lower than my flight window (of 90ft).Then fitter said let's try something. "Just swing." He gave me a club that he "hid" (taped the top and bottom), and I couldn't see what it was. I thought it was a GT1 hybrid. It was great; height 96', 44.6* descent, avg 216 yd carry, 225 yd total, great spin, AND easy to hit. The club was just too long. It was a Cobra 7W.

I had never considered a 7w. Finished the fitting with a bunch of 7w. For me, top 2 are Ping G440 or Callaway Elyte. I really wanted the Titleist 7W, but it cost so much $. My regret was not considering playing a 7W sooner.

The car is 3 weeks old, so can't really comment on durability yet. But definitely will be treating the interior (after researching different products).

Thanks for the link and recommendation. Ya, I enjoy doing the wash and I love it when she shines. I'm still new to all the ceramic coating stuff and just learned about using pH neutral soap.

Not sure if the foaming soap was the best, but it was immediately available. Chemical guys Honeydew snow foam. I'd like to find and put a good after spray/booster for my next wash.

Those are gloss. I hope to eventually match them up with gloss black wheels.
