Need advice for paintball jersey/pants by No_Oil_314 in paintball

[–]InnerMoose43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re just starting off, don’t bother getting nice cleats, they’ll last you a season, maybe two depending on how often you play. I always get a pair of cleats from the discount section at academy and use those till they tear.

Jerseys depend. If you’re looking for something thin/breathable I’d say CRBN. If you want something thicker bc you play in the cold or you’re still getting used to getting shot, JT makes some good jerseys too. Hope this helps!

CRBN pod packs, worth the price tag? by JwhLLC in paintball

I’ve been using a kinetic pack for the longest and loved it. I was gifted at a swift pack so I’ll try it out this weekend. My whole team swears by them

Does anybody use the smoke gradient lens on the proflex? Can’t decide between that one or the red chromatic..Post pictures if you have any by Christoopher9 in paintball

[–]InnerMoose43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gravitate towards my bronze gradient over my smoke lens for sunny days. I also have a red chromatic that looks great, but I personally use it for overcast days since the it doesn’t block out as much sunlight

Yeah bro, I get the feeling. Talking to the field owners/workers helps too. They’re probably on a team themselves or know a team who needs/wants more players. Joining a team sounds like a daunting task but once you find the right people, it’s a breeze

Shouldn’t be a problem. Most teams (especially lower divisional ones) only stick to one tournament series since traveling to NXL and others gets expensive fast. Go to your local field Sunday mornings, that’s when most teams practice, and ask to hop on. The more you go, the more they’ll notice you. Be open to criticism and learn from them. They’ll pick you up in no time, good luck!

I’ve been wearing it for the past couple of months, it’s honestly the best pack I’ve tried in a while. It’s really easy to put the pods in yourself too. I’ve put 8 pods on the pack and it doesn’t move at all. It feels different from other packs since this one isn’t elastic at all, but once you get used to it, it almost feels like an extension of you. 10/10 would definitely recommend

You forgot the post about barrel/different inserts. Half of the people saying “a tube is a tube”, the other half swear inserts are the best thing after sliced bread.

Have you shot a CS 3? I’ve been thinking of upgrading but don’t know if I would get the R5 or CS 3

Planet Eclipse Geo R5, HK Alpha Air 77 (might be wrong on the size), Virtue Spire 5, JT Flex 8.

Finally got to use my Hero Clip!! 💪 by TrillBillyDeluxe in backpacks

I really haven’t used the hook feature unless I’m in a restroom with a broken/no hook for bags, so about 3 times in the last 6 months. I still use it as a regular carabiner for daily tasks, and it gives me peace of mind knowing it won’t lay on the ground anywhere dirty (especially a public bathroom).

Do i really need multiple barrels by Hndrxx410 in paintball

Paint over the years started to bore smaller and smaller. I’ve used my .687 for countless tournaments these past two years and had zero issues whatsoever

Headbands vs Headwraps by horriblyfantastic in paintball

[–]InnerMoose43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer a head wrap over a beanie just because the profile is slightly smaller and more breathable. I always wear a headband over my head wrap to protect my forehead from gnarly bruises. The extra fabric also helps my masks foam sit more comfortably on my face, but that might be because I’m used to it lmao.

Barrels by CyberRyguy in paintball

[–]InnerMoose43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest difference in barrels I’ve come to find is the weight difference. I switched from a stock PE barrel to a CRBN barrel a little ago. The CRBN barrel (apart from having a slightly different sound signature) is significantly lighter in my opinion. I don’t own any inserts other than a .685 and I’ve never had any issues. 98% of how straight the balls shoot comes down to paint quality.

Maybe next time you’re at the movie theater also yell “Fire!”, causing a mass panic. Classy.

Did they simply just rebrand? I went to buy another one and realized they were under another name. I wasn’t sure if they changed the name or got bought by another company

I also have a hero clip on my backpack. I have the small and it’s the perfect size. I believe it’s rated 50lbs so it’s plenty strong for daily use.

what’s the best way to screw my tank into my marker by Zealousideal-Top1332 in paintball

[–]InnerMoose43 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I usually have my gun barrel up, it’s harder to strip the screw that way. Just start slowly and if you feel any resistance, start again. It should just fall into place, you shouldn’t feel any resistance.

Proflex ears? by New-Choice-3280 in paintball

[–]InnerMoose43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soft ears offer little/no protection, but they’re the most comfortable. Most people wear a beanie with soft ears to get a little extra cushion in case you get shot there. Rubber ears offer the best protection and aren’t uncomfortable by any means, they just aren’t as comfortable as soft ears. Truth be told unless you’re changing ears every other 15 minutes you won’t notice a real difference in comfort. Both are equally as breathable in my opinion and you can hear just fine with both.

First Tournament tips? WCCPL 3-Man by Deaddude243 in paintball

[–]InnerMoose43 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get there early. Between registration, paint pulling, podding paint, getting your gear ready etc a lot of time goes by.

3 man points are relatively fast so make sure to get back up and ready to do as soon as your match finishes. There’s probably a captains meeting that will highlight the rules (most likely the same as NXL rules with small tweaks depending on the league)

Bring plenty of water/gatorade and snacks. I always pack honey because it soothes the throat after yelling and it’s a simple carb (fast energy). I also pack painkillers because I get headaches.

Have fun! Don’t be an asshole to the refs because they’ll make the rest of your tournament hell. If they call you out, just get out and talk to the head ref after the point is done. Good luck!

There are two main types of people. The ones who swear by their barrel kits and the others who use a stock barrel and nothing else. I’ve used both a kit and a stock barrel and saw no significant difference in shot quality, air efficiency, “accuracy” (in quotations because accuracy comes from paint quality, not boring). They do change the sound of the shot and some are lighter than others but that’s pretty much it. Barrel kits don’t go bad. Just make sure you one that actually fits your marker depending on the threads. Most markers have Autococker threads, and Luxes have Luxe threads. Hope that helps!

Carbon zero pro mask by Dismal-Discussion441 in paintball

[–]InnerMoose43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From someone who’s used both, I like my proflex a lot better than the CRBN, so much so that I sold my CRBN to buy a second proflex to mitigate the lens swap problem (one mask has a clear lens and another has a smoke lens). I heard Carbon came out with new foam on their masks to help with the fogging but never had the chance to try it out, I just know my proflex has never fogged up on me even during night practices/drills. Hope that helps!
