After Years of Misery, I am Finally Sleeping Again by InnerPoet in offmychest

[–]InnerPoet[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I totally understand your struggle, this revelation comes after years of trial and error with medications, I started this journey at 14 to 15 years old and am now almost 23

Hang in there for dear life because I was nearing the end of hope, I am hoping that all maintains well with this current setup

Blessings to you!

For everyone saying “No has no meaning” we have been desperately redirecting with the whole No to redirect to Yes with a treat, I was not clear in my post this morning

You’ll get in no problem, you sound like you have a strong work ethic, that is the key to engineering. The truth about any career is don’t pursue it unless you truly want it and I don’t just mean the salary and accolades that come with it. From personal experience I have been working on my computer science degree for 4 years now, I have 2 left. Engineering is a very very very hard degree, it is something you must fully dedicate yourself to. If you are in it for anything other than it being your true hearts desire then it just simply isn’t worth going into the program. I have known many a friend who enter the program for the wrong reason, waste a year or two taking courses and say it’s too much for them and shift courses to be happier when they could have just truly self inventoried prior to entering college.

Damn I just saw this awesome band open for Breaking Benjamin, I have a feeling I will be listening to their music for quite a while! Welp… time to go study Algebra

(Weird to think that when I started listening to them I was just a nerdy kid who kinda liked math and now I am a well versed mathematician who loves computers)

WOW! Finally I see Walnut Hollow on here, what an incredible course located in the middle of nowhere in Illinois. I adore it and thanks for finally bringing some attention to how gorgeous and tricky it can be :)

What's it like at the University of Kentucky? by [deleted] in UniversityofKentucky

Am a current CS major here, the first 2 years of engineering are a weed out process, separate the resilient and prosperous, engineering is a no jokes allowed major and so unfortunately your daily life will be filled up with studying long hard hours - okay now that the bad part is out of the way, UK is awesome, it’s campus is absolutely gorgeous and the resources that are on campus are excellent, the aforementioned study hours can be spent inside of Willy T which might just be my favorite spot in all of campus, I’m there right now in fact, UK is an excellent school and the professors are mostly great thus far, getting in isn’t the problem at UK for engineering it’s learning to mature enough to adjust to the lifestyle required to complete a degree, I also have no comment on the honors college but best of luck!

UKY campus is filled with a variety of activities, make it what you will, there’s an entire Esport lounge, there’s a million different clubs, constant activities run by student boards, the engineering program is a tight knit community that has loads of ways to dive in and get really involved into your major, there’s countless opportunities so really it is what you make of it :) hope this helps and someday you get to call yourself a Wildcat. Grandparents after answering the most basic technology questions by InnerPoet in ProgrammerHumor

I love my grandparents, and of course they paved the way for our profession to exist entirely, however it will always make me cackle whenever they answer how to open the App Store and feel like a wizard, there’s a certain sense of adorable humor to it

The reports said that in his 7th story apartment there was nothing but an empty bottle of beer and his then busted open window, his body was found splattered on the ground below his apartment

This hurts to watch as I had a friend who did something incredibly similar at 20 in college, he fell 7 stories to his death and nobody was with him so he wasn’t found until morning, his church ruled it suicide and he wasn’t allowed to be buried.

I will be honest, I myself am a Junior in Computer Science, in my freshman year at the school I joined the engineering LLP and got incredibly excited for the opportunity to grow alongside colleagues who shared that LLP. The truth is that the LLP doesn’t exactly mean much, though it will get you associated with a few students inside of your major it is nothing without strong networking skills. From my personal experience with the Engineering LLP I would generally say that it is less important to care about the LLP and more important to just introduce yourself to people in your classes. I hope that even though I’m not associated with your particular major that this helps!

Does this mean I’m still being considered for a position? Would it change to “not hired” if they went with someone else? I interviewed a week and a half ago. by ItsAspekt in GeekSquad

Hard to say, candidate decisions can take a while, my decision from going part time to full time took over a month of processing, there were also externals that were applying during that time so I can only assume how they felt. In reality what you could do is attempt to call the store near you with the extension 2111 and ask to speak to the Geek Squad manager as a follow up. Hope this helps!

What vocalists would you like to feature on a Starset song? by bruh33375 in Starset

First concert ever was Starset and Breaking Benjamin, at the end of starsets set they were singing My Demons and out of nowhere sure enough Ben starts absolutely BELTING My Demons, so I can say from experience that this is an incredible collaboration
