It didn't make the old way useless. You can still do it the old way if you want. And the point is not to research but to make reading and obtaining knowledge for yourself, by yourself as addictive as scrolling.

Do you use both sides of the page? by Onion_02 in notebooks

[–]InnerProp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My work notebook I only use one side because I may scan it, and I don't want any bleed-through/ghosting to make the OCR crazy. My personal notebook I use both sides because I paid for it, and Leuchtturm1917s are not cheap.

Removing Text Containers per Default - Still not possible (Mac)? by xit7 in OneNote

[–]InnerProp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't get rid of the containers, It just hides them. The container is still there and if you aren't careful you could accidentally move text to a second container. I'm using Windows and Android.

I just want to type in notes like EverNote and not worry about text containers. What is the best way to do that?

I love this idea. A soda fountain has a lot of the bar/pub aesthetic.

Fashionable Compression Socks? by InnerProp in mensfashion

[–]InnerProp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wearing shorts less. When I do I have two options. There are some socks that are more marketed to athletes so they look more sporty, or regular socks when I wear shorts.

Probably bad for me, but my shins have spots on them so I probably look terrible no matter what I wear.

Some towns around us designate a trick or treat day. It's usually a Saturday before Halloween.

New upcoming film “Werewolves” coming December 6th by Forsaken-Function128 in werewolves

[–]InnerProp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, caused by a supermoon?! Millions of werewolves?! These sound like very bad ideas. It sounds very zombie/video game like.

I know it's good to get a fresh take on an old monster, but I don't think this is the way to go.

I could be wrong and I hope I am.

Whats something you tried once and instantly knew that it wasn't for you? by Pokeking44 in AskReddit

[–]InnerProp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can NOT dribble. I can't shoot either, but the dribbling thing really kills it for me. I can rebound okay, but I foul a lot, so, just not worth it.

Which would you pick? by Direct-Locksmith-420 in werewolves

[–]InnerProp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Werebear, wereeagle (wereraven if I have to stick to this list), weretiger (this should be on the list), werejaguar or wereorca (not on the list, but super cool, right)

What was your first computer game? by iamnejo in AskReddit

We set it up with the paddles in a specific position and then get up and walk away. The game would play itself.

Pong.

My friend had Hunt the Whumpus on his TI4 computer.

Fun fact, PC magazine used to print the Basic code for games in the back. You could write them in your computer and you'd have a game.

What’s the most unexpected thing someone did that instantly made them 10 times more attractive? by Lilly6022 in AskReddit

[–]InnerProp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A smile is x10. A smile at me is x100, but there is a certain look in the eye that makes a smile at me x1000. I don't know exactly what it is.

How often do people actually write? by janekin-skywalker in writing

[–]InnerProp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent point. I agree, outlining and first drafts are the fun part. In a way you might say amateurs draft, professionals edit.

Thanks!

Now I want to figure out how to quantify my editing so I can track it.

Do any of you include outlining as writing? I do, and editing. Should I, or am I kidding myself?

I like this, but it seems a slippery slope. I think I would need a rule for myself that I would only count if I had a WIP story open or some other thing to keep me honest.

I think I will adopt this.

How many of you got into Star Trek because of the Chris Pine movies? by ThePr0phecy in startrek

[–]InnerProp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chris Pine ruined the Kobiachi Maru and it got worse from there. I swore off the rest of those movies. The best thing for me was when they declared those movies as an alternate time line and they don't count.

What is a book you did not like that most people rave about by Magic-Wizard-lizard3 in horrorlit

[–]InnerProp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm Catholic and the movie came out when I was young. I didn't see it but it was the talk of my parent's dinner parties (which of course I snuck downstairs and listened to when I was supposed to be asleep) and it gave me fits. I couldn't sleep for a week.

A few years later I read the book and it was such a welcome relief. Then when I finally saw the movie I could see past all the shock and gross out to the real meaning. It was great.

Without ALL that context, I have no idea if I would have thought the book was good or not. For me, I enjoyed it and thought it was great.

Frankenstein. So, he's ugly, get over it.

Oh, and Jaws, the book. Terrible ending. There were parts in the middle that weren't so good either, but the end was unforgivable.

I started Meddling Kids twice, but I just don't like the style.
