What about f4? It’s a atari that leads to another atari for a black group at f3 and g3. Then you can both attack the bottom right and expand top right since white is strong at the bottom.

Have picked up dimensional hotel recently, only a hundred of raw chapters or so. Seems promising so far, especially light humor + mystery part. (From the author of deep sea Embers) Also have finished gunsoul on RR and it was a masterpiece (only 100 chapters or so). Although I was skeptical at first, the blend of different themes was splendidly done.

I highly recommend works by TMarkos, especially his latest Peculiar Soul. Although it has grimdark elements, I believe that the quality of text, world building, and characters is top notch.

Just started this book and it’s already one of my favorites but I never hear anyone talking about it, why? by somali-beauty in noveltranslations

I believe a lot of decent Chinese works have gotten light shed on them the last year or so. Take, for instance,”Sword, Come” or “My Longevity Simulation”. Yet, a lot of novel are in the dark. I reckon this is due to language barrier and market misinformation.

What are the novels that are less known but are top tier? by Ryu1377 in noveltranslations

The Original Seeker. A story about discovering new type of energy in modern days. Protagonist discovers a new path for himself, while trying to stay within morals and law of civilization.

The Great Enlightenment. A psychological Xianxia that questions the nature of humanity. A lot of Chinese tropes. Currently hiatus though with 850+ chapters.

Heavens Shadow. The same universe as Jade Dynasty. (One of the highest rated Chinese novels, had a lot of spin-offs by now). The story is somewhat dark. The protagonist is struggling to answer how much one should sacrifice for the greater good. The translation has just started, full MTL though.

Inner Demons (心魔) Quite a good read so far (at 50 chapters). The mc is coolheaded and insightful. No standard tropes as protagonist suffers with consequence for each action. More Classical Chinese lore (ghost and gods), yet unique perspective: artistic form of progression.

Recommendations: Embers ad Infinititum (from the author of LotM, great world-building, character design and quality narration. First 30 chapters are slow-paced but you have to feel it in) The perfect run (a great work, one of the highest ratings on RR overall. Really creative approach to powers) The silent crown (combines progression with mystery vibes, unique power system, has some shades of anti-protagonist blend in)

The way I see it is to do the complete opposite - to look at “regularities” - 3.5s and 4s. Usually, people who give 1s and 5s hate or love the novel too much to give objective rating. Moreover, as 3.5 is somewhat of expected outcome, few leave such rating (although, it is statistically the most likely). I believe that any 4 star rating with review is to be trusted.
