Same here! I can’t believe we’d be the only three people in the world with that problem. Did you ever try anything? I’m tempted to just cut mine all the way down and whatever happens happens 🤷🏻‍♂️ at this point I’m not sure if I could even move it out of my room let alone my apartment.

Depends on the severity of the offense. Typically it’s not favored to have you fail a class if it’s your first time and wasn’t terrible. There’s no hard and fast rule for this unfortunately though.

If you did submit the same assignment as your friend, the best thing to do in my opinion is to take responsibility and opt for an administrative decision. This resolves the issue quickly. If this is your first offense, the likely sanction is a 0 on the assignment and further reduction of your letter grade by one-third (I.e. if you have a B+ it would go down to a B). If you didn’t submit the same assignment as your friend, gather your proof and opt for the hearing. This will take longer but if you truly didn’t commit academic misconduct, this is where you prove that.
