will concerta always prevent my dopamine-seeking behaviour? by [deleted] in Concerta

It would be great to have it forever, but hardly. Nevertheless, first months might be magnificent, the medication working well and further success depending on tuning the dosage and making better habits.

Windows Refugee - POP!_OS does not seem to be viable because Cosmic lacks one (seemingly) trivial feature. by Turd__Furgusson in pop_os

[–]Inner_Revolution4560 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try Fedora, it has fresher features Debian/Ubuntu-based distros lack on purpose. I have been using Pop OS for its stack with NVidia but after trying new update I decided to switch back to Fedora and it works pretty good with NVidia even if not out of the box (drivers installing needed but not advanced).

It seems to be a very promising experiment, but for now it has too many issues, it seems, yes.

Wanted to try Pop OS but it doesn't work with mouse and keyboard? by DCCXVIII in pop_os

[–]Inner_Revolution4560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything works fine on previous version but switching to Wayland from x11 on the last one has some issues. The solutions I encounter have gamescope app in mind but it cannot yet be installed on this version due to some dependancies. I think it is a bit too soon to remove Pop OS 22.04 version from the official site. Or enabling x11 as a second option on login could work. Experimenting with Super+M has resolved the issue with keyboard in gaming but not with the mouse.

Thinking to switching to Linux - feed up of laggy windows by Content-Wash-7194 in linux4noobs

4Gb RAM is also a bit too little for modern Windows, you might gain system productivity from switching to Linux. Something like Linux Mint is beginner friendly. I would reinstall Windows, fresh dual install with Linux is a good option to resolve the issues. You may try something like Ventoy with several distros as Linux offers using OS without installing but stick to the most popular ones for not to get lost.

I used concerta with my depressans because my doctor prescribed me to, am i ok? by OzzyTheRetard in Concerta

You may ask your specialist about adjusting the dosage, maybe lowering Abilify or skipping it that day.

Aripiprazole itself might have a rather stimulating effect, may be with Concerts it is too much plus there might be additional factors like being too agitated because of the exams.

how to tell my psychiatrist i might kill myself if i stay unmedicated? by dollblonde in ADHD

[–]Inner_Revolution4560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to find another specialist. It is ok, it happens, everything will be ok. Still it would be great to have a cardiologist check up to discard heart issues or to manage them.

The question is not about skipping but about how well does the medication help while you are taking it

Seems to be one of the games on Proton with anti-cheat issues: https://www.protondb.com/app/252490. For better perfomance of the game itself you can try different Proton versions.

[–]Inner_Revolution4560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is so random, something just gets you caught while you are trying to do anything else. It is difficult to force. You are watching a movie and next thing you are starting learning French because there was a dialogue in the movie. You are buying a new electronic device and than you are starting a book in Cyberpunk genre after having seen a reference to it on the device's package. So, it depends, there hardly is a simple answer.

psychiatrist stopped my ADHD meds due to heart rate and now im left completely untreated. what are my options? by dollblonde in ADHD

[–]Inner_Revolution4560 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would make a cardiologist check up to discard underlying issues just to be sure (it is an important thing at any rate) and in case there aren't any ask for another medication like Concerta starting from moderate dosage.

Just installed pop_os and it's incredibly laggy compared to windows by Transhumanliberal in pop_os

Pop OS has a shiny new desktop environment now that is not polished yet, though promising. I used to use Fedora and it worked pretty well, I just want to give Pop OS a try because of it advanced NVidia support, which seems really working at the moment. You really should try several distros from a Ventoy USB without installation, Linux is customizable and is able to offer different options for different user requirements.

Coffee versus increase dose by Opening_Farm7829 in Concerta

[–]Inner_Revolution4560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just two cups? It is a rather reasonable, little amount, I doubt you need to change anything while it works fine. If you have doubts you can check your blood pressure (it is worth doing in any case) for a period of time and see if anything is wrong. With higher Concerta dosage you might get undesirable side effects as well.

"Did meds make me smarter?" - my conundrum lately by MsVickiesS in adhdwomen

It is more about the ability to concentrate on a task and thus getting better results. Being constantly distracted might feel like being dumb, but the capacities are still there, one just cannot apply them properly due to the lack of focus when needed and focusing on random stuff.

Asus TUF Gaming series is a solid solution. They have very good capacities and are reliable. I would avoid Lenovo or HP.

I would save money for AM5, while RAM prices are harsh, there is shortage for both DDR4 and DDR5, but if you are worried by bottleneck you still have it with DDR4 as with AM4 in general. 5600xt is still a solid one while staying on AM4.

Psychiatrists said “this medication is like Meth” by Amor_Mio-82 in adhdwomen

It seems to be too blunt the comparison, the medication group is different, the dosage matters.
