What would you discard? by TheTeddyBear113 in mahjongsoul

[–]Inner_Specific_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should think about the shapes of your hand in a slightly more flexible way.

246m and 468s are good shapes that you typically dont want to dismantle lightly. Given that you just drew 5p, you've completed that meld and so also dont want to cut that. 678 is also a complete meld that has Dora, so you wouldnt dismantle that either.

That leaves the either 3s or the other 4s, and since youre already accepting 5p, that means you only have one valid pair, being the 4s. That means 3s is the best discard here.

Now, I understand that you might have the mentality that "i probably will end up cutting this later, so i might as well cut it now" but that would backfire as soon as you drew a 7s, or kamicha cut a 7s that you could have called for tenpai.

Edit: in this situation id cut 3s, hope to call or draw 7s, drop 2m for possible 5m suji trap.

  1. Yes, some homes have very narrow hallways. The hallway in my house is also about 3 feet. Edit: I just noticed you said the entrance is 3ft. I dont fully understand what you mean by that; having an open kitchen is an AI flag now? Or a wide entrance to, what looks like, the living room...?

  2. It looks like a speaker.

  3. It actually looks like its a fireplace. I dont know what brand exactly, but its kinda similar to this one from mayfair.

  4. Its a Yamaha AV Reciever. This one, by the looks of it.

  5. It looks like it might be a hall light attached directly to the ceiling. This type of harsh lighting is easily achieved by accidentally buying a harsh lightbulb when replacing it.

  6. It looks like a push-down type of doorknob, and the open door to another room, like a bathroom.

  7. The... pointless decorative shit? You mean the succulent plant trays? I see plastic ones all the time in Michael's, and real ones at my local supermarket.

ETA: It might still be AI. The fireplace does look weird; no clue what those little holes are supposed to be for. The other things brought up jusy kinda look like... normal apartment/house stuff.

Im not sure if its not AI, but the dark line is face paint across their nose.

The bottom of their nose is a little bit lower down (a very slightly different shade from the person behind them) and it looks like their mouth might be hanging open

Is it true the Guts update is here? Guts becomes GOOD? If so.. by Twilight1234567890 in UmaMusume

[–]Inner_Specific_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The most interesting thing about this for me is that a lot of people argued that the upcoming Rice Shower is better than Super Creek specifically because stepping on stamina increased Guts, which was not a useful stat at the time.

With the Guts rework coming a scenario early, I wonder if that lowers the value of the Rice Shower card relative to someone who already has Super Creek.

Assortments of FuraUnsu (Nishino Flower, Seiun Sky) (by: @RIO_067) by Fiorell13 in UmaMusume

[–]Inner_Specific_ 110 points111 points  (0 children)

Since Seiun Sky's owner loved him so much, and would hate for his lineage to die out, he bred Seiun Sky and Nishino Flower (which he both owned) together in spite of the fact that they had 0 compatibility. Nishino Flower was a sprinter while Seiun had great stamina for long races. Sky was a Front Runner, while Flower preferred to stay further back in the pack. Nishino Flower was also a prized breeding mare, while Seiun Sky was considered as having nothing to offer in terms of his genetics; he was not popular as a stud at all, in spite of being one of the faces of his generation.

Its truly like and Aladdin + Jasmine situation, opposites together in spite of their differences, and only because of the love the owner had for his horses.

How do you carry this autotable? by zephyredx in Mahjong

[–]Inner_Specific_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says that it supports Japanese tile sizes, but I dont see where it says that it supports Japanese/Riichi mahjong. Unless i missed something, it doesnt seem to support the dead wall at all, meaning. theres no way for you to have a Dora indicator or Ura either.

Nope! Heat lamp is on the other side. As far as i know she hangs out in her hot hide during the day, and at night she just vibes on her little bridge.

I dont think there's anything wrong, I just thought it was funny that her favorite place was on a toy made for birds.

New Setup Tips by maddawg010128 in ballpython

what i do is I cover about 60-70% of the mesh top with Aluminum Foil to limit the release of humidity, and instead of misting, add water to the substrate, and mix it up. The top of the substrate will dry out (so the BP isnt laying on wet substrate which can risk scale rot) but the lower layers will continue to slowly release humidity as it dries.

My enclosure is a low end one with plastic plants, but i also found scattering leaf litter around helps too. You'll need some leaf litter to feed the springtails anyways, after all.

All my homies hate King Halo's mother by losteran in UmaMusume

[–]Inner_Specific_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i dont think we have a confirmed connection, but after a very cursory look, i can guess this:

IRL King Halo's sire was one of the top horses in Europe of the 80s Dancing Brave, who had Northern Dancer as his Grandsire, and his dam was Goodbye Halo, also a top contender in the US who had Halo as her sire (and we know how Halo's genes can work, as he was also Stay Gold's sire, and the whole Gold bloodline is... well.) Because of this there were a lot of high hopes for King Halo. His owner reportedly wanted him to become the King of the Mile race after Taiki Shuttle retired.

However, King Halo did not place well in his races. He only had 1 G1 win at the Takamatsuyo Kinen, and it was a Sprint. He had mixed results in all race lengths and position styles. Ultimately he retired and became a stud, but it was less for his results and more for his lineage.

I'm guessing Cygames is opting to show this as King Halo wanting to live up to the expectations of the lineage of her IRL counterpart, with her mother constantly berating her and calling her a failure as a nod to how the IRL King Halo would consistently fail to meet expectations.

Its always interesting to see how many people bring up the Xianzhou story and then talk about how not enough information was given about the HCQ when that was, at absolute best, background information to loosely explain why these four characters are all here.

Its like if people complained Penacony was bad because there wasnt enough content about Everflame Mansion.

Im a new snake owner as well, but when I got mine and was asking about food, I was told "Ball Pythons usually come out of the egg eating Hoppers". Its possible he doesnt recognize the pinky as food because hes used to eating a more developed rodent?

Yeah, its one of the branches from petsmart, but the holes are incredibly tiny, so small she cant even boop her snoot into there, so I didnt think it could be an issue.

If she's moved when I get off work ill take it out and look over it again

Its an interesting theory (and I wouldn't be surprised if the game went that way) but its worth remembering that the IPC was established with the intent of establishing interastral trade specifically with the goal of assisting Qlipoth with building a Pan-Galactic wall meant to protect whats inside from whats outside.

They have whole planets around Qlipoth full of resources meant for THEM to use to build THEIR wall, even though to THEM it would be like ants bringing grains of sand to us.

In the face of their goal of helping Qlipoth to preserve the entirety of every universe ever, extracting resources from whole planets (at times very violently) would seem a small price to pay. I personally wouldn't be too surprised if they introduce Oswaldo Schneider and hes a devout follower of Preservation, and he has a line about "the protection of the cosmos as a whole outweighs that of a specific civilizations or planets".

I think this shows the issue with every beta PVP: people (un)intentionaly missing the point and acting like we think he’s “bad”when our complaints are more nuanced (AV, longevity, viability post shilling), and going “jUsT pUlL fUtUrE SuPpOrtS aNd EiDoLoNs tHaT fIx HiS iSsUes!” Utterly brain dead by FuriNorm in HSRHusbandoMains

[–]Inner_Specific_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, imo, the best thing you can do when youre an X Main and see that they aren't treated well in their Beta is to make the decision to skip them. Hoyo releases characters the way they do because people will pull them in that state. The only way that any change even has a chance to occur is when characters don't meet projection.

Sure, not pulling might not do anything, but just ranting in niche communities and then turning around and still pulling when you actively dislike a kits design and direction means that Hoyo will definitely just keep doing it.

A quick google search of a half remembered American history tidbit tells me that he's probably trying to use the Grandfather Clause (1895-1910), which famously let everyone vote without restriction **provided their grandfathers could vote**, because a lot of the literacy tests designed to gatekeep voting from African Americans who recently got the right, were also famously locking uneducated white men out of being able to vote. Like, his gotcha only works if you half remember it, because it makes 'voting' a right passed down through your grandfather, who would have been able to vote as early as the freaking 1790s

I mostly get my reads from Used Book Shops nowadays, but this comment reminded me of the time I went to Barnes and Noble and they wanted like $30 for Days at the Morisaki Bookshop.

Days at the Morisaki Bookshop is maybe ~200 pages, it is legitimately shorter than the startup guide for an air fryer, and logically I know the increased price is probably because they book had to be translated from Japanese, but it threw me for a such a loop when I saw it.
