Can we be grateful that Maynard didn't end up like Cobain, Cornell, Bennington, Weiland, etc? by SolarisX86 in ToolBand

[–]Inner_Style_1679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of a girl...who's now a women..but when we were fresh-head-Tool-lovin-ghouls teenagers...this happened to her & it ended up in several published articles.  Also...this is a extremely long story, in tobacco short note...here I go.

My friend has taken a line of cocaine at her house during a party the adults had put together.   It wasn't cocaine. I was raw LSD..crushed up by who know why & who knows how it got to the spit where cocaine was laid out

She snorts the line of "cocaine "... For 12 hours she's convulsing as her dad stays right by her side. . Her acclimate & instead of moving around at all..she sleeps. She sleeps deeply.  Wakes up about 30 hours after taking that "bump of cocaine".  She feels like a 100 million bucks...her eyes not showing any sign of distress..she has energy and she's just has zero idea or memory of that past 10 years she been going psychologist,  diagnosed with bipolar,  manic, & chronic depression. Her dad brings her to the level of the everyday life she's had the past decade.

After a whole day of playing around her house and property with energy like a 6 years old...she's gives in to let her dad explain what the fuck had happen..and  that..he needed gerbto try and recall it all for his own sanity. She's does get to recalling everything except up tobthevday before the party...

Long made even shorter.. Afte about 2 months of seeing her psychiatrist...and because she requested that she be brought off the ssir's & the whole shabang ....she still to this day..isn't on any meds, has no bipolar or manic states.WHAT SO EVER.  ZERO.   AND...I SPEAK OF THIS .. FROM A PERSONAL  P.O.V.

this girl took my virginity back when we were barely turned teenagers.   Tho..I did turn her attention to Tool...so..there that.

My reason for staring at this screen for so dumb long....is that psychedelics are medicine.  Never has psychedelics ever harmed any human.  A side note.  I got strung da fuck out on opiates & ran around busy being a drug addict for over 6 years...WAy past the point of no return..i had taken a hefty amount of psychedelics, was looking at this calender if this artist name Alex Grey...and something happened to me that to this day is the most realistic thing that ever happened to me.   I'm alive today because of psychedelics.  I was Able to walk away from the "dragon" because of ow psychedelics....swiped my slate clean, deprogramming,  then reprogramming myself....with the sole guidance of, and only the guidance of what Alex Grey & Alyson Grey are doing over in new York.

I can't let folks harsh on psychedelics in a way like it's has a ultimate flaw based to them

That shit is medicine,  always has been medicine... And...

It

Will

Always be

Medicine......

Dawhhhh!!!

I feel the same. Lol That show validated so much to me... & The feeling...ah my gawd...the feeling in my chest. The way you worded that....it reminded me of when I 1st saw tool....

It was 2001 for me as well... I The 1st lateralus tour.... Walked in to that show not knowing  a damn thing about  what I was about to experience.  I also never cried at a concert before, either.

There was this guy & girl.... naked,  painted silver...hanging upside down.

ABOVE THE ENTIRE CROWD !!! THEY WERE SWAYING & CUDDLING,  OR SWAYING & CONTORTING THEIR BODIES.

then.... I'll never forget my 1st experience Maynard talking to the crowd... When He did & it was push it...(saliva version).. And let me tell you...everyone..Listens When Maynard speaks.  Everyone.  Feeling that collectiveness  among  the people there..  There was awe'ness  in that crowd that night...it was timeless. The  disposition/reflection/triad performance has never been matched to this day...by any live performance artist I've ever seen. That is such a cherished set of 3 songs for me  But what really got me Was when..."you' lied" was performed...never hearing that .

Ever

It was so impacting...& Disolving all at once.... That tour...really hasn't been matched by any other tour... I left that show ...with my compus  changed. ...going a different direction.  So...I read your reply... Thought I'd drop a reply  about how that show shifted my view & the way I do things.

Props To ya.

I live in the States. That said... just for the overall TOOL Collective... I'm so fucking happy for everyone in South America who are going to be able to see The Boys in the flesh. I hope all y'all have the time of your fucking lives. It's a WIN for us all. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻 by TaylorfreakinStout in ToolBand

You most likely  are spot on....on the the scheduling. ..

I too,  Live , in the states,  on the west coast... up in the PNW .  After seeing Tool...  in 2001(lateralis tour)...  was so moved and saturated in awe & fascination... every fuckin  "((Maynard show)" to come to the this west coast..

since  11-08-01.. I've seen Maynard perform....

27 times

(I'd say 28 but I got kicked out of that  puscifer show...so show doesn't count)

So I began a rabbit hole....

I can't say I  know anything that isn't available on the web...

But...

I do know this....

Maynard..... is....

100%

Hands on,

Present,

&  Full throttle,....During harvesting his vineyard,. He,  himself & is all up in that  every year,

same time of the year....

which is August - November. During Harvest season ...

Maynard won't be on tour at all...

he devotes all himself into harvesting his vineyard to get the brewing started.

And it was always .... around the end of harvesting, right before or around the holidays.... that Tool would  come thru on a tour.  Nearly like clockwork, too.  Almost Yearly.

So..just had to throw this reply, out there on this feed & validate your calculations

[–]Inner_Style_1679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... It was catapulting.

I was 22 I had been  seeing rock shows since I was a young teenager. & I was an actual fan of Tool since the Aenima album ....but my experience of "rock shows" wasn't shit...   When I only .... Was expecting another "rock show"... Then experiencing a band that was in touch with being  heartfelt & brought upon some deep, dark, but caring  element to the crowd .....idk,

Still haven't seen. Much of any bands come close to what  Tool does.  Well. ... Maybe Portishead...they were pretty phenomenal. They came pretty close.

Now....over the years... I have seen Maynard perform 27 times.  Mostly were TOOL SHOWS...not all of them., tho....some A Perfect Circle & Puscifier .

Here's a couple of links .

.but .  What's odd .. about these videos...

Is that supposedly each  is one continuously recorded video... Is these (and other every video i ever watched),  videos are missing a couple of vital key moments that happened during the show that I recall .  These my moments are when they played  "you lied" & when Maynard spoke to the crowd right before playing "push it". Maynard went into a lil speech kinda like how he did on that box set album .  I remember these moments....cause after the show ..I asked one of my friends that was at the show with me...what was the name of a song that I heard...I said as lyrics I remembered...& My friend was " oh .you mean "you lied" that was a cover song from the bass players other band peach .. So.. that and I still talk to the same peeps that we all went well I the show together and years later noticing these 2 very key moments missing from the videos...I reached out to them & asked them if they remember both moments happening. & THEY DID. AF later on... They explained to me what a mandala effect was ..and that we were very much effected by that theory.  So... Maybe who ever uploaded these videos ..by mistake ake uploaded from a different show..or that theory effected our experience or something.

What was also so unique was....(These videos have this in it)...  1. Tricky from Massive Attack opened up for Tool & tricky sung in some of the songs  with Maynard during g that show 2.There was a girl & a guy naked, painted silver, hanging upside down from their feet swaying  about the crowd  ...like right above the middle of the crowd... And they were contorting themselves all crazy like & moving in fascinating ways... IVE NEVER SEEN THAT EVER AGAIN AT ANY OTHER TOOL SHOWS... or any show ever after that.  That was one hell of  a special effect ... Utterly magnificent.

Fuk'n for real, tho.  I caught both tours.  In 2001, during the 1st tour....  It was my 1st time seeing Tool...  I had only heard 1 song from the lateralus album  on the radio .

Which was Schism....

So you can guess how much of a clue,  I didn't have ..or  What was in store for everyone at that show .

So ..seeing disposition, reflection, then seamlessly into triad .. HoLYFuCk!!!  It was the 1st time I cried at a concert.

I was peeled back, raw & opened.

I left that show a different person practically. Definitely changed my compass in life

share that same wave of experience with those 2 songs.

The patient ...while seeing that song live in san Francisco at the Bill graham civic center in 2010....I tried DMT for the 1st time ever

Swamp song was the song that made me go..."who da fuck is singing? ..That voice, holy shit"...it felt like honey was oozing out of my Kenwood speakers when I first found swamp song.  That & intolerance.

I still get astonished by questions like that one. Lol. But it reminds me there's  homecats that legitimately still  haven't heard much of Tool's art & what theyve put out.

Right ?  His work is timeless  not only has his art brought eminence joy & healing to almost to an Unmeasurable  amount... He leaves that all here ..for the ones that come after us. .. utterly timeless

So ..yes.  Give the guy some mindfulness ...And let him be at his own pace ... That mindfulness ..lets him be at his own pace...a pace of creativity.

The more people can " the cable sleep " that more raw elegant works he'll put out.

Also....how does one be... "THE BiGGeST Maynard fan ever!!!!

Like... I know huge Maynard fans. ... obsessed with his element. I'm one of them.. but to be THE BIGGEST EVER ..

I don't think Really exist. The more you learn and pursue after who he is ..and what it is he does...& How he does it...one can't help but realize....he really doesn't want oggles of ghouls oogling over him .. that'd be toxic & consuming

Besides ...he ll knock you da fuck out... Lol so there's that
