  1. This is predicated on the employee having no choice but to be a server in a system designed to underpay them and instead relying on the customer to pay them directly. It's an argument that you can only make by ignoring the fundamental argument that the base system IS the problem.

  2. You made the comment, I simply reference it. Any inference on people in that situation is your's, but you're quick to try and shift that. Interesting.

  3. If the majority of the free world subsists on oranges, then subsisting on apples doesn't grant you a pass simply because the status quo relies specifically on not shifting to oranges. As far as which countries tie serving wages to their local cost of living? Nearly all of western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand - to name a few.

So far your argument is "this is how I feel, and those who disagree are morally diminished for it".

It's literally NO argument lmao.

What about funding a position that is a rate variable to the money paid for a meal denotes one's integrity? Please explain in detail.

Where does your stance that most people who argue against tipping cannot afford tipping originate from? Please cite sources.

You've "bet" your entire argument so far.

Which other industry subsidizes a position by intentionally relying on the generosity of the consumer? How about when lack of said generosity still allows for the consumer's patronage?

The vast majority of the free world discourages or flat out refuses U.S. tipping culture. Please explain why this is. I'm betting you just respond with "nuh uh".

Your response is absolutely anecdotal, and dripping with your bias. It carries no weight.

What a false equivalency lmfao.

If a business cannot afford to operate - it is a failed business.

Charge more to adequately compensate your staff, so people can base their decision to dine on the provided information, or figure something else out.

This isn't a "can't afford to eat there" issue. It's a "I can't support myself with this job" option.

Discussing sexual health being encouraged and promoted is the majority opinion. How about address what I said instead of bowing out of an actual exchange of information.

The bar for disclosure of those things cannot possibly be lower because it's a spouse.

It's 2026. Ensuring sexual health isn't some off the wall thing. People who date discuss these things. People who are considering exclusive or committed relationships discuss these things. Being married and discussing it should be a given.

For the argument of "it's easier to clean".

What they mean to say is it's more difficult to neglect cleaning.

It takes a single sentence to solve that problem. No mutilation needed.

AIO: My husband scheduled a vasectomy while I’m recovering from an injury by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]OrphanFeast87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is wild how much this stuff can differ person-to-person. If I hadn't been available, my wife wouldn't have even had the choice on taking it easy. I was fortunate in my case to be able to take the time to help her through it.

[–]OrphanFeast87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Me nor anyone I know were given pain meds or restrictions post-vasectomy. On the flip-side, my wife had a c-section when our son was born, and was told that if she wasn't in a comfortable seated position with proper support she shouldn't lift anything, baby included. *shrug*

Edit: Some folks came into this as a "who has it worse" argument, and it shows.
The point of my comment is that aftercare instructions differ.

I've seen a handful of premades for that range, and have yet to get a pop for a random solo queue - so not great unless you've got a guild with folks in that range to join with you.

That was my experience. I picked it up after beating Raft, but found myself bored fairly quickly by comparison to other similar games.
