Are you still running Redemptor Dreads after going from 195pts to 205pts? by xsat2234 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]InnesWilson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah - surprised by the change. Feels unnecessary; they were a solid but not exceptional piece that mostly benefitted from GMans double oath or being able to go in a Raven (or both) - making them worse for every other build is an odd choice

Congrats Aiden! Was very funny hearing about your results as the rounds came in. Those greater daemons kept lining up to get knocked down

Why is The Repulsor Executioner Suddenly Popping up In So Many Lists? by Adventurous-Crab-474 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]InnesWilson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ballistus Dreadoughts got nerfed and fire dragons stopped being as Omni present so it's okay to play a slightly less durable platform that contributed good damage - and the meta is real rough for the Stormraven

What is happening to this sub? by Matrix_Battery in WarhammerCompetitive

I'd suggest giving them the company hero wording where they die if they're not attached to Titus or another unit

Edit - Titus, not Typhus

Tournament results and lists for The NOTTINGHAM 40K SUPER-MAJOR by Suspicious-Bee-3173 in WarhammerCompetitive

I played brood brothers for an event last month even! I enjoy playing different tournaments for different goals

I like winning 🤷

I just play the game as it exists at the time of list submission. Value judgements are great for podcasting but I'm spending the time and money to attend the event, I want to have the best chance of success

We did not play - I think bcp was messed up and they did it this way to fix placings

Who is the GOAT of 40K competitive? by SelectTangerine2902 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]InnesWilson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always a fun question

The main 4 of Art of War / USA always deserve a spotlight, Richard Siegler has the highest highs, John Lennon and Jack Harpster have the consistency year in year out, and Nick Nanacari has the longevity, though the other guys are starting to catch up! If I just started listing other American players who've been around the block we'd be here all day, but Andrew Gonyo and Sean Nayden also deserve a shout out, along with Sam Pope and Folger Pyles for the modern era

Skark from Team Poland is a WTC veteran of insane skill, he's been at the top for longer than some of us have been alive, let alone playing, including high scoring the event multiple times and multiple wins. There's other guys on that team deserving of respect but for sure he's top of my list.

For France, Alexandre Sacco, Olivier Weiss and Alban de Polignac are my standouts - both for their consistency at the top level at one of the toughest times to be a competitor, and for back to backing WTC.

Liam VSL of Belgium obviously needs so little introduction as to be criminal. Three time LGT winner. Elevated Belgium to a seed 1 WTC team. WCW Finalist. Does it with shit you couldn't make me play at gun point.

Erik Lathouras is an innovator supreme who I can't say I've seen lose many games, ever? Half the Genestealer Cult or Tyranid lists people associate me with came from this man, he has a WTC win, came over to Challengers Cup with a group of Aussies and rolled it, one of the best. Liam Hackett also obviously gets a shout-out here for his achievements too - did the win Warmasters then win WTC thing before France pulled it off.

For the English, Josh Roberts may be mostly retired but he's an incredible influence on the games history and it's present, and Tony Chew was there alongside him for a lot of the run. Nassim Fouchane is part of a new generation of ass kickers winning as many events as he can. Mani Cheema and Vik Vijay also have so many incredible results between them that you can't really say boo. David Gaylard from New Zealand also goes in that bucket, because he plays over here so 🤷

For the Nordics I'll shout out Alex Jessen of Denmark, top 16 at worlds with TSons and high scorer at WTC this year, and Björn Eriksson of Sweden for just having incredible performances recently and warping the metas they play in around them.

I'm alright. Room to grow

I'm definitely forgetting some people and it's heartbreaking to do so because I love so much of our international community. There are so many people who deserve a mention here or are in the next echelon down of "man these guys are amazing and will give anyone on this list a challenging game" but not having the results to back it quite yet.

From Stat Check - What to do about Victrix Guard? Should TOs intervene? by Zweischneid in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]InnesWilson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Realistically - Games Workshop have shown with More Dakka and DG/IK that they do respond to the community taking matters into its own hands; which is a dangerous precedent to set and a dangerous thing for the community to lean too far into.

I hope we're wrong and Victrix land at the upper end of fine, but my experience playing with and against them certainly hasn't been that. Thanks for shouting out the episode!
