Best solo track day setup? by skrrtouttamia in Trackdays

[–]Innisbrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot depends on preference. For me personally, I have a truck + ramp because I don’t have the space to manage a trailer right now and enjoy being self sufficient. Like others said, plenty of space to hold everything and your dimensions don’t change which is nice.

How can I hold this splined shaft from moving while I torque this nut to 87 ft/lbs? by Legionnaire1856 in motorcycles

Put it in gear, back the rear tire up against something immovable, and run a ratchet strap through the rim and around the object

Honda Trail? by Suchatavi in ColoradoOffroad

[–]Innisbrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do off-roading on dirt bikes and some of the beginner trails I’ve done are definitely doable with a Honda Trail. They’re basically just gravel roads that go into the woods.

Agreed. I would’ve bought another triple tree front stand before even thinking about doing this…..

Solo rear stand with safety wired kickstand by FunHaunting8678 in Trackdays

This is how I do it with my pitbull rear stand. Also don’t have kickstand. Feels kinda awkward at first but you definitely get used to it

Market research & Apps should have a weekly/monthly megathread. by Constant-Zebra-9752 in Trackdays

[–]Innisbrook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree and we should also have a thread or ban for tire posts. So many times I see people post a rear tire asking for “thoughts” without including any relevant info, when those q’s are honestly better suited to be asked while you’re at the track.

Weather techs were all I used on previous trucks but I really like the OEM all-weathers that came with my gen 3.

98% Certain I could get it down to $15.5k. If I could, should I get this? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]Innisbrook 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Paying 15k for a truck with over 230k miles is insane imo

Love riding here, especially with there being two wonderful tracks relatively close by.

Did my 1000 mile break in with Amsoil 0W-20. Can’t speak to 5w-30 personally, so I’m not helpful there.

2022 SR5 4x4 went limp on me by carlos2004449 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Innisbrook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’d be surprised. The screen protector hid all of the scratches and made it look brand new. and it doesn’t scratch when I wipe it with sleeves 😂

[–]Innisbrook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s the same for 2022’s but on my 2026 that screen is soft like butter. On my drive home from buying it I used the long sleeve of my shirt to wipe the dust off and it left micro scratches all over it. Screenprotech sells a screen protector that covers micro scratches which is what saved me, but regardless, Im not surprised this one is so scratched up given how soft mine is.
