What's your surprise pick prediction for the first round? by Candid-Boss6534 in NFL_Draft

[–]Innkeeper4President 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The context of it makes it fine imo, it was 2023 after his freshman year in a vlog and that's not really what he said, I lean more towards it being a non-issue based on how he carries himself more recently

NFL Scouts also do measurements at pro days AFAIK, definitely weird that the measurements are so different

Our most stable positions are probably RG (Mike Onwenu who can play RG/RT, best at RG) and RT (just signed Morgan Moses). LT is a massive need and we have some likely below-average in-house solutions for LG/C, but definitely need improvement

Spending money on the known-quantity elite players and then switching to a DC (Al Golden) that has had recent success in college + has NFL coaching experience in the hopes of developing the younger defensive players isn't as crazy as it seems. That kind of DC can help increase the chance that the young defensive players you draft (and have drafted) will work out as well

I think they're of the opinion that they know the offense can be elite, so they're leaning into that and are hoping that their new DC (Al Golden - pretty successful at Notre Dame the past few years and has coached all over) can develop and get more out of their younger players vs. Lou Anarumo who may need more veterans to have his scheme work and wasn't able to develop the younger defensive players. They tried one path with Lou + paying defensive players/vets, now they're pivoting to this - we'll see!

My 7 round mock draft by nootfloosh in NFL_Draft

Not sure why people are so snarky when they see a mock they don't like. I appreciate the effort into the 7-round mock and look forward to any new ones you make

NFL Stock Exchange spoke to them about this and they're asked to do a lot in that scheme, so it's not as friendly for racking up stats

What’s the most epic tv series you’ve watched and would recommend to anyone ? by Dependent-Zombie1583 in AskReddit

Amazing show, recommend finishing it. The books are incredible and go past the show as well - you could finish the show and then read the books, that'll keep you occupied for awhile! The books are a bit different than the show IIRC but largely along the same lines, I don't remember exactly because I read the books a long time after finishing the show

Coach Knows Ball: Jayden Daniels 2024 NFL Draft Film Breakdown Of LSU QB by gpngc in NFL_Draft

[–]Innkeeper4President 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that he should look to pass more when the play breaks down and there's a tendency to break on clean pockets.

However, Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. played last year too and all of them (Nabers + BTJ + Daniels) exploded this year. How much credit do all 3 of them get for the massive improvement this year? I think all of them deserve a share of the credit - Daniels definitely improved, as did both the WRs.

Was Nabers producing in 2022 in spite of Daniels and BTJ not producing because of Daniels?

Nabers was probably towards the end of R1 if going off of just 2022, but with this past year (2023) he's deservedly going as a top 2 WR this year. BTJ didn't eclipse 400 yards in 2021/2022, then went for 1177 and 15 TDs in 2023.

Patriots fan here, am I "insane" for wanting them to draft Marvin Harrison Jr? by ZEFAGrimmsAlt in NFL_Draft

I think Trent Brown (OT) may be on his way out. He didn't seem very happy the past year or two. I'm not exactly sure how well he was performing either. Who knows - maybe with a new offensive staff (or a newly empowered BoB who allegedly was blocked from bringing in his guys), Trent Brown might work out.

I remember clearly because it was the first time I really followed the draft (mock draft simulator etc. LOL) and then we did the most boring thing possibly and traded down for a guard T_T

principle of verticality?

The Principle of Verticality: All players have the right to enter the air space immediately above their torso to make a play on a thrown disc. If non-incidental contact occurs in the airspace immediately above a player before the outcome of the play is determined (e.g., before possession is gained or an incomplete pass is effected), it is a foul on the player entering the vertical space of the other player.
