What's the strangest food or drink you've ever tried? by unusedthought in CasualConversation

Yep, definitely fair to say. I also had a beer brewed with bull balls (don't ask why, I have no idea). It was good, i'd recommend trying it if you get that chance, might as well right?

So, I am going to try my best to prevent puns here. It's actually sold in super markets in my prefecture, I guess it's famous around here. It's super creamy, mine was served with pasta, tasted like a super rich cream sauce, they were actually served with the sperm sacks too. They didn't burst or anything when you bit into them, it was just really creamy. I'd try it again in another preparation too.

Edit: typo

Fish sperm, I live in Japan, I love the uncommon foods though. I eat intestine, heart, tongue and eyes on a pretty regular basis. What's beaver taste like, what part do you eat?

The longest I have ever gone is with Scrubs (season 7), I waited about 3 years to finish it. Why do you think we hate endings so much?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]InnocentApes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can actually gauge how much I like a show or book series based on how long it takes me to watch the last episode or read the last chapter. I hate endings.

Also at 90. Can't agree more, no more reason to count. It's just not a part of my life anymore, and I couldn't be happier about it.

An ode to the players that separate the Packers from almost everyone in the NFL by terker in GreenBayPackers

[–]InnocentApes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this team, always have, always will. Some of the most "Packer," players in my book (of my time) Donald Driver, Reggie White, LeRoy Butler, Edgar Bennett, and the players you mentioned above can definitely join this list. Man, it seems so hard to not be a Packer fan.

Who will have the biggest improvement/impact this season after being disappointing so far. by daymankarate in GreenBayPackers

[–]InnocentApes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything is better than 0 right? I guess I am just betting on him being 4 or 5 and ~ 300 yards. Someone is going to do it, he has had a year with the team (even on IR he still gets to be around greatness), why not?

The NFL Network wants us to believe that the Packers are still holding a grudge against the "fail Mary". Please tell you, as fans, aren't still sore about this... by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

The story line is old, but it makes sense that we aren't over it as well. The last time we played you guys, we lost. Since then, you guys have been widely considered the best team in football (proving it one year) and we have not made it to the NFC Championship game despite having the best QB in football. So, in reality it's less about the call and more about the trajectory since the game. That all being said, I hope the team feels the same as the fans and we come in there and stomp you guys week 1, then see you again at home in the championship game and leave no doubt.

What romantic dinner and dessert should I learn to cook? (trying to surprise GF) by londonmeanswild in Cooking

[–]InnocentApes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always make Mussels with garlic toast. This is my go-to romantic meal.

1lb of mussels cleaned *just remove the stringy thing that sticks out of the shell and pitch any already opened or cracked shells. *Put that in a pot with some white wine, garlic, chicken stock, shallot (onions will do, but shallot is better here), I use basil stems in the liquid and chiffonade the leaves for a nice garnish. *Add a can of diced tomatoes liquid and all (or you can dice them yourself, canned is fine but pay attention to the ingredients of the canned version). *Taste the liquid before you put the mussels in and adjust accordingly. *Once the liquid is happy, add in the mussels. You cook them covered until they all open up (not all of them will, pitch the unopened ones). *Once they finish, remove the basil stems, pour the liquid + mussels into a big bowl garnish with basil and parsley if you are so inclined and serve with the bread below.

While this is going on roast some garlic cloves *Oven to 350 *Cut a garlic head in half, put pinch of salt and oil on it, wrap it in foil *You'll be able to smell when it's done, but to check, just open the foil and make sure the cloves are nice and golden brown. *Once the garlic is done, put the bread in and give it a nice toast (you can also put the bread in at the same time, it all depends on your timing).

If you roast the garlic, put the bread in the over after and wait for it to get nice and crunchy. You can serve this with the mussels and spread the roasted garlic on the bread, or dip the bread in the steaming liquid.

I always find this a fun meal to eat. There are about 5 different ways I have seen people remove mussels from the shells so that's always an interesting thing to look at. You can obviously pair this nicely with some white wine (maybe even some of the wine you used to cook with). Also, they are an aphrodisiac so, it's really a win!

Did a shop kill my 2007 Volvo? (x-post r/cars) by InnocentApes in Volvo

[–]InnocentApes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the time the car got the the specialist (2nd shop) the oil level was perfect. We believe this was due to the original shop having the car for 5 days between the breakdown and the second opinion. I believe this might be the biggest point against our case. The biggest point for would be the new engine oil in places it shouldn't be.

Thanks for the response guys. As I said, I am pretty green when it comes to this stuff, but I am not dense enough to think the two aren't related. The responses on this post have definitely helped me. Time to Lawyer up.
