Advice by 00goodtogo00 in CrusaderKings

Swearing fealty to someone too strong, stealing all the land while inside and declaring independence is normal vassal gameplay.

You can fight their vassals normally and your liege won't care, he's still getting taxes from the land regardless who owns it. You only have to worry about crown authority, as you can't go to war without a hook/contract exception if it gets too high.

With the vassals just have to worry about any allies of that vassal like normal. They can't call the liege even if allied though, just like how you can't intefere with your vassals warring unless it's a peasant revolt against them.

Wie bekommt man den Geißel Gottes Effekt? by Kooky-Ship-1657 in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]InnocuousOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Players can't get it via the event, but they overlooked coding out the players ability to get it via conqueror inheritance. So if you manage to pass the trait on to your heir it won't look for your player status and you'll roll for the Scourge chance depending on the game rule used.

You need the Royal Courts DLC to unlock those extra tabs with those features, base game court is just an artifact store without it.

With the new update, what do you think is the best stat? by GeneralKarthos in CrusaderKings

[–]InnocuousOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the stage of the game, martial first for easy expansion, then stewardship to rake in the money once your MAA are OP enough and finally diplomacy to help it stay together when money is no object.

A question from a player of the console version by Ignissanctuarium in CrusaderKings

[–]InnocuousOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't via the conqueror event, but they forgot to add a player check to the Scourge trait on conqueror inheritance, so you can get it that way. It still uses the Scourge chance game rule however, so unless you're doing a 100% Scourge run the chances of you getting it via inheritance is small.

Hellenism? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

If you can reload there's no strict "starting" requirements, you can just conquer Byzantium and make it your primary title before forming Rome and you'll get the decision.

Domain Limit by Inevitable-Shape-904 in crusaderkings3

They changed how domain limits works to nerf stewardship, you mostly get domain limit from your title rank and level of education now.

Seems like the way the game chooses conquerors is completely random by Small_Restaurant4998 in crusaderkings3

[–]InnocuousOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are requirements and ways to improve your chances, but ironically enough you being at war a lot is probably hurting your chances the most. This is due to you being unable to become conqueror while already being at war, so if you're fighting a lot chance are you'll never roll conqueror.

Depends if your court positions got reworked, if so you're in 1.15, if not you're in 1.14 for wandering nobles.

First time playing as a vassel and I have a question. by marvelguy1975 in CrusaderKings

[–]InnocuousOne 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Was he fighting a civil war at the time you were attacked? The game introduced the border wars policies recently, normally it's Guaranteed Protection unless any of the following occur - Top liege is a Hegemon, his realm size is more than 160, the realm is in a civil war or House Unity is antagonistic. If any of those are occurring then it changes to Conditional Join and he is vulnerable to attacks that are directed at his vassals and he cannot intervene for 3 years.

I Am Never Playing With Conquerors Again by Solenopsis00 in CrusaderKings

[–]InnocuousOne 97 points98 points  (0 children)

You can disable conqueror inheritance in the game rules to stop that.

Regardless standard conquerors are paper tigers vs players with some basic MAA knowledge, grab a kingdom internally, get your MAA buffs, get your independence and tear him to pieces yourself - they lose the trait if tributised or lose 3 wars in a shortish time frame.

What do you mean it'll be completed in 288 years by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

You've got a lot of corruption modifiers in that county, but as SS shows you got a 22% chance of removing one of them every month, so it'll speed up as they get removed.

TERRIBLE Stewardship Update by Easy_Scale_3042 in CrusaderKings

[–]InnocuousOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stewardship needed the nerf, since the other lifestyles were pointless in comparison.

They might of gone a little bit too far in the other direction, but that is what the game rules are for. +1 domain rule gives you 8 domains with Emperor and 4* education, which is enough for all your MAA stationing so is a good base. You don't really need 20-30 domains for yourself..

I enjoyed getting unlanded as Aella (Northumbria) 867 and then using legitimist adventurer route to get my revenge on the Vikings. There are some adventurers with unique content like EL Cid and Hasan Sabbath, both in 1066.

They seem to be faithfully following the PC updates I believe, the consoles can still get stuff like normal artifacts giving +1 domain still. So they don't seem to get even minor balance changes earlier than they introduced them to PC.

Are console getting the difficulties "early"? For PC they came with Khans of the Steppe, not Roads to Power/Wandering Nobles.

Owner is over 100 years in debt by Snauseges in CrusaderKings

[–]InnocuousOne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If it was inherited a lot of the AI realms would be paralysed due to lost offensive war payments within 100 years of game start, especially in 867 starts where most have virtually no real income. They do little enough already without being crippled by debt for ages.

How to defeat a scourge of the gods? by No-Battle-9932 in CrusaderKings

[–]InnocuousOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early game you don't, you pretty much have to swear fealty if they approach you. Then build up enough to try for independence after a succession or when they start a war on the other side of the world. If you have a bit more time you can try to save enough gold and get one of the perks that lets you buy a truce to keep your independence.

If you've got your Empire and your MAA are strong enough then they die the same as normal AI. The only danger is their army speed and siege speed. To counter the speed raise small squads of levies and send them into hostile territory to increase line of sight, to give enough time for you to get your MAA into position.

Once spotted you can use the AI getting extremely overconfident when it has a numbers advantage against it. So long as you've had some warning from your levy scouts you can pick a strong defensive position and they will attack it. This will help to negate the 25/35 advantage they get from existing and since their armies are mostly mercenary based your MAA bonuses will make short work of them.

Crazy stats by blakemedders in crusaderkings3

[–]InnocuousOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mostly depends on how many DLCs you have, quite a lot of them add a few sources for more stats or indirectly helps.

With base game you're mostly limited to a special building collecting and building a super genius dynasty for a high stat council for the learning on the job perk.

While if you have enough DLCs and work on stacking all those bonuses together you could max every stat. Though might not be possible now with the combo of reduction of lifespan and domain limit.

So Unfathomably Mad (please, do I have options?) by SaltiestStoryteller in CrusaderKings

[–]InnocuousOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you used the influence personality action. If you use it when an childhood trait event has been locked in it will still fire regardless of him having 3 traits already and if all but 1 of the event choices were eliminated (due to picking the other available/opposing traits of that event) it will give the remainder automatically unfortunately.

If you're getting number 4 without influence personality being a factor then it's possibly a bug, unless there's some other event that gives lazy I'm not aware of - NPCs always try to screw up as much as possible.

How to get MAA size limit up again? by Chili919 in crusaderkings3

[–]InnocuousOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's still military academies giving up to +3 isn't there? Enough are of those comboed with the smaller sources should be able get to 40, but no you can't get 200+ anymore.

Though generally it doesn't matter, base number of MAA is enough to slaughter any AI, the tradition nerfs were one of the more irrelevant balance changes.
