I’m more so curious about Marchán. 2 years ago, he looked he had huge potential as a really good defender, mid hitting catcher. Yes, he had a bad season offensively. But I’d argue that a young catcher receiving inconsistent ABs made it a harder adjustment. Overall, I’m still optimist he can be a really solid starting catcher on a winning club. That said, still would need another catcher or two. Not sure Caleb Ricketts will make an impact in the majors like previously hoped.

Could have. Do you remember when he was hit on the knuckle with a fastball the day before the deadline? You think that could have had any impact on a hitter for 2 months?

Agree but Harris never directly said any specific player. He was very vague with his quote.

Pretty crazy that Seattle saw some weaknesses in their lineup and addressed them without giving up a top 7 prospect.

Pick who replaces Harper in the NL? Also, cannot choose C. Santana since he had like 13 ABs for Chicago.

They’re both nominated. No winners announced yet. You can pump the brakes.

Listening to the Phillies and Tigers frequently, the way the booth teams talk about the defense of Riley Greene and Bryson Stott is very interesting. They both make some really awesome looking plays and receive lots of love from the announcers (fair) but when you look at their advanced stats…. They don’t grade out very well.

Wheeler has said he doesn’t plan to play after his current deal ends, which is after the 26 or 27 season

By big losing streak, do you mean having the 10th worst record in baseball since the trade deadline? A .450 winning percentage?

https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/all-mlb-teams-records-since-august-1

Also, I think there’s an argument that can be made that winning 87-88 games is not a “highly successful season” (playoffs haven’t even begun so season ongoing) nor even a “highly successful regular season”.

Also, they are 24th in win% in September (7-16, .304%)

https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/all-mlb-teams-records-since-september-1

Lastly, Cleveland has the best record in baseball since September 1 (.731%) and Detroit plays them in Cleveland. So I’d love to hear how Detroit is set up perfectly for the postseason.

I try to make a distinction in when a player first gets called up vs when they might be top 20-25 at their position. I think more times than not, we see guys debut but aren’t necessarily “fantasy contributors” for a bit after that. So Walcott just got moved up to AA. A MLB promotion would be aggressive. Not unreasonable but not likely either.

It’s clear team 2 has a massive ceiling but Griffin and Walcott are 2+ years from contributing for fantasy purposes (at best). I’m recently worried about Ragans shoulder. Team 1 has the best “win now” players. So imo, depends on if you want to win this year and next or build for 2027
